Charles and Ash were lying side by side, the X-Men watching in anticipation.
"Thank you for letting me in." Ash smirked as they dived into En Sabah Nur's mind, getting ready to fight him.
"Ash, you need to go." He turned to her, but she shook her head.
"I'm not leaving you."
"You've given me a connection into Nur's mind, and I have to take it from here."
"I've told you, I'm not leaving you!"
"And I'm not going to let you get hurt. Someone needs to take care of everyone out there. I'll deal with him in here. Please." Ash returned to the real world, rushing to go out there and aid everyone in fighting En Sabah Nur. The tattoos on her arms turned red, a swirly pattern covering her eyes.
"You're in my house now."
"What do you think Ash will say about this?"
"So... weak."
"Ash... Jean... help... me..."
"Ash... Jean... let... go..."
"Let go..."
Ash let the power rush through her veins, the tattoo turning a hot white as her eyes burned a fiery red, the strands of hair that were red glowing as the power exploded from her, Jean beside her, her younger sister's powers forming a phoenix while hers moulded into the shape of a dragon, En Sabah Nur desperately shielding himself from the skin-ripping blast. Ash flew forward, the dragon following, engulfing him in flames that not even his powers could withstand, an explosion echoing through the deserted lands of Cairo. Ash landed on the floor, Charles running outside and hugging her tightly.
"Let's get you on the jet."

After Ash and Jean rebuilt the school, Ash had become a professor again.
"Hello, Ben! I'm doing great, Kelly, how about you?" She strolled briskly through the halls, a smile on her face at all time because of the happy children she passed. She knocked on the headmaster's office, hearing a mature voice say 'come in'. Entering, she found Charles and Raven discussing.
"Oh, Raven! Charles! If it's something important, than I could come back another time." She stepped back, about to leave when Charles held up a hand, stopping her. Ash lifted a finger and jerked it towards her, the door closing softly.
"We were discussing training sessions for potential X-Men. And who would lead them. Raven put you forward for a potential teacher, so what do you think?"
"Not me." The two of them looked taken aback, looking at each other in worry.
"Then who?"
"Me and Raven." Raven looked even more surprised, but also tempted.
"Why me?" Ash sat at the desk, with a wave of her hand pouring drinks for them.
"The kids look up to you, Raven. You're driven, strong, passionate, and you're unafraid to hide your powers. I can't do this without you. So, what do you say?" Ash held out her hand, raising an eyebrow. She took the hand, shaking it to a grin from Charles.

"From now, you forget everything you've learnt! Forget what your parents taught you, or your school teachers. None of that matters!" Raven said firmly, pacing back and forth.
"You will ache, you will get hurt, but you cannot stop! If you feel like crying then you might as well walk out of those doors and never come back. From now on, you are relentless, intelligent and most of all: unbreakable." Ash yelled, startling the students.
"Because you are no longer children."
"You are..."
"X-Men." They said together, standing back as the simulation process started, Sentinels emerging from the walls.
