Bex's heart stopped for a moment. Then everything clicked back into place.
"Lex, darling, can I talk to you alone for a moment?"
Lex gave her an even more confused face but nodded
He stood awkwardly until Bex realized she forgot to tell him to, well, get out.
"I'll meet you in the hallway. Just gimme a second, okay?"
Lex nodded and left through the doorway. As soon as he turned, Bex wheeled back to Rex.
"How much do I tell him," She asked him hurriedly
"I don't know" Rex's face dropped, and Bex knew what to do
She grabbed his hand, and his eyes shot up to meet hers
"I'll just tell him you don't want to talk about it. He'll understand"
Rex's lips twitched, and Bex knew she was on the right track.
"I'll come right back" Putting his hand back into his lap, Bex walked out the doorway and looked at Lex. Immediately, he shot a bunch of questions.
"What was the sound? What happened? Is dad okay? What's going on?"
Bex felt like crying but forced herself to chuckle.
"Calm down Lex." Letter her face fade into seriousness, she grabbed Lex's shoulders.
"Dex told us why he'd been so... Odd lately, But Rex doesn't want to talk about it. You get it, Right?" she gave him a hopeful look
"Yeah" he said quietly, and they both walked back into the room.
