CASSY POV
“Harry, please. All I’m asking is for you to check on Zayn. I just want to know if he’s okay.” I sighed softly, waiting for a response from the other end of the line.
“I don’t even know why you’re making me do this, I mean, why don’t you just call him?” He replied. I could tell he was a little annoyed. I could also tell he was eating something because his words were a little muffled.
“Because he’s not answering my calls. We were supposed to have a lunch date via Skype thirty minutes ago, and I don’t know. I’m a little worried.” I explained. We’ve planned this Skype date about two days before. Today was the only day we both had long hours of break, so we decided to do something a little fancy. But he wasn’t answering any of my calls, so I wasn’t sure if the date was still on.
“Then call him again later. I’m sure he’s okay. If you want someone to talk to right now, then I’m here, let’s talk. We haven’t had a proper conversation for weeks now because you’re always talking to Zayn. I’m sad and I’m hurt.” He said, making it sound like a joke, but I’m sure that somewhere along his words, he was serious.
“Harry, I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting you. I promise I’ll make it up to you. I just really need you to check up on Zayn right now. And then we can talk as long as you want.” I negotiated, hoping he’d agree.
It took him about thirty seconds before he finally answered. “Fine. Wait a sec.”
“Yay, you’re the best.” I chirped. I bit my lip as I waited, and I could hear him speaking to some people, probably asking where Zayn was. Then I heard a door opening, and then Harry was back on the line.
“Your boyfriend is fast asleep. Problem solved?”
I let out a sigh of relief. “Yeah, thanks, Harry. Just wish he told me or something, almost died from all the worrying.”
“Yeah, he shouldn’t have done that. Break up with him.” He told me.
“Harry!” I shouted at him in response to his stupid suggestion. I sounded like a mum scolding her child.
“Hey, I was just joking.” He said, laughing briefly before continuing. “I’m sure he wanted to tell you. It’s just that, we had an interview early in the morning, and when we got back, he probably fell asleep. Innocent mistake. He’ll come around later.”
I sighed. “You’re right. Thanks, Harry.”
“Now, tell me, how is Miranda doing?”
THE NEXT DAY
“Love, it’s 5 in the morning there, why are you still awake again?” He yawned as he laid down on his bed, his laptop beside him.
“Because, I have a paper and a report due in about four hours and I’m only halfway through.” I let out a yawn too, before looking back down on the book I was holding. I’m on my fifth cup of coffee at the moment, trying my best to stay awake.
