CASSY POV

This is the third time I’ve successfully dragged Harry to the club to go get wasted with me this week. He didn’t even want to go at first, but he has no choice, really. All I want to do right now is drink and let loose. Gotta love the single life.

Three hours in the club and my head was already buzzing from all the alcohol I’ve drank. Harry, on the other hand, decided to stick to water and non-alcoholic beverages. He said he wasn’t in the mood and that he was only here to look after me.

“Cassy, let’s go home.” Harry said, his tone demanding. He took the shot glass from my hand, and I frowned at him in return.

“Nooo.” I whined, trying to reach for the glass but Harry was holding it too far away from me.

“You’re drunk. You’re done for the night, let’s go.” He said, standing up and taking my arm but I resisted.

“You want me to be happy, right? Why are you taking my happiness away from me?” I pouted like a little girl, crossing my arms in front of my chest.

I heard Harry sigh. “This,” he said, gesturing at all the bottles and glasses I’ve emptied, “is not happiness, Cassy. It’s only temporary. And I don’t think you’d be happy at all when you wake up tomorrow morning with a hangover.”

I hate when Harry is right. I glared at him for a second, before I stood up. “Fine. I’ll just take a trip to the bathroom.”

“Let me help you—“

“No, no.” I cut him off. “It’s okay, I can manage. I’ll be back.” I tried so hard not to stumble as I made my way to the bathroom. I tried to ignore how everything seemed to be spinning, but the big crowd I had to push past to make it through didn’t help at all. When I finally pushed passed the crowd into a more spacious area, I stopped to catch my breath. As I did so, I noticed quite a familiar face sitting by the corner to my right. I just knew it was him. He was with some friends, and because I had so much courage in me, I did something I definitely wouldn’t do if I was sober.

I went up to him and forced a smile. “Shahid, right?”

“Uh, yes. And you are?” He asked.

“Cassy.” And just by saying that, I could tell by the look on his face that he already knew that I was Zayn’s ex-girlfriend. Yes, that’s right. I hope he feels guilty for being such a bad influence.

“Uh, Zayn’s not here…” He said, confused.

“Yeah, I’m not looking for him.” Then I looked at the girl, the only girl who was with them, sitting right across him.

“And you? Are you, by any chance, named Shara?” I was hoping she is, because if she’s not Shara, then this would be very embarrassing.

“Yes, I am.” Bingo. “Can I help you?” My blood boiled, I could feel myself heating up even more.
