CASSY POV
“Cassy! Cassy!” I heard my mum shout from downstairs. I struggled to stand up from my bed and went down stairs to ask what all the fuss was about. “Mum, why are you shouting? It’s too early!” she laughed and just motioned me to come over closer to her.
I’ve been spending time with my family for a week now while Zayn’s on tour. We’ve been back together for almost 6 months now, but we’re not living together like before. He said he wanted to try out our tradition and that maybe it would work best for us if we listen to my mum.
“Look!” my mum said clearly excited about whatever she was looking at on her computer. “What’s that?” I tried to rub my eyes and be fully awake to process what she’s showing me. “You look so pretty!” she commented. “How did they even get that!?” I saw a selfie I posted with Zayn on my private Instagram account. I know all my followers and it just seems weird that it would be used on an article from Sugarscape. How did they get a hold of it? Oh gosh. “Does it matter? You two look good together, I’m glad you’ve sorted things out.” she told me, hugging me slightly. I decided to just focus on my mum right now and deal with the photo later. “Thank you for all your understanding and love, mum.” I smiled and hugged her fully.
“I just saw it, Louis saw it.” he told me over Skype. “I just don’t understand how they got the photo babe, do they hack people’s accounts?” I was completely baffled. “I don’t think they’d go that far hun, do you want me to talk to them so they can put it down?” he politely asked. “No, I think even If they put it down, people have already saved a copy of our photo one way or another.” he chuckled. “You think about things too much.” he said, getting an envelope from his bag. “I tend to analyze stuff.” I mentioned. “Anyway, babe, I have your ticket right here.” he opened the envelope and showed me my ticket to go to Turin. “I haven’t packed yet!” I exclaimed. “Well you better start now, I’m going to pick you up in less than 48 hours!”
Zayn wanted to go on a little vacation with me in Turin for the short break that they’re having in between this leg of the tour. We haven’t been on a vacation since New York and it felt like it was time for us to finally be alone together so we can relax.
“I’ve packed most my stuff.” I told my mum. “Right, hurry up we have to drive you to the airport now.”
“Zaynie poo!” I ran towards him at the check in counter, “Baby!” he met me halfway and kissed me before putting me down. “Am I late?” I asked running out of breath. “No, just in time, tell Miranda sorry I wasn’t able to say hello.” he mentioned, “I don’t think she’d mind, she knows we have a plane to catch.” we both laughed as we move to the lounge to wait for our boarding time.
TURIN, ITALY
“You know, this is my first time in Italy.” I told him as we walk hand in hand at one of the gorgeous streets in this city. “I guessed, that’s why I brought you here.” he smiled as he handed me a cone of gelato. “But why Turin? Why not Rome? Or Milan?” I asked, “Well, cause it’s not what most people would think of first when they hear Italy. Kinda like our relationship, you know. When people hear about us, they’d think the most common things. Little do they know, we’re more than everything they could ever speculate.” he explained, “Wow. People don’t give enough credit for how profound you could get sometimes.”
“Good morning my love!” I heard Zayn exclaim really excitedly. “What’s going on? Why are you up so early? We barely slept last night.” I said covering my head with a pillow. “Come on, we need to get to the place I’m going to show you! It’s a Sunday so a lot of people would go there and I want us to be the first ones there!” he said pulling me out of the bed and into the shower.
MESSER TULIPANO
“Mass—Masser Tulipano?” I tried to read the sign where we were heading, “Masser Tulipano.” Zayn said confidently. “What does that mean?” I asked, “You’ll see when we get there.” He’s being so indirect about this, I’m starting to get annoyed, if this is not as brilliant as he sells it to be then he’s not going to get some tonight. I woke up early for this.
“Zayn.” I stopped in the middle of the pathway we’re walking on when I saw where we were. “Babe?” he stopped too quite confused, “What is it?” he asked. “I just. Wow. This is beautiful.” He smirked, “I told you it’s worth it. Come on!” he pulled me for a run and we just ran towards the middle of a field full of tulips and dandelions. And since we were there early, there weren’t people exploring yet, he planned all of this. He did. “I know you’ll like it.” He winked at me and I was just amazed at how amazing the view was. “How did you know I love tulips? I mean, we never talked about that.” It’s true, I never once told him about my favorite flower. “I guess my instinct served me right this time, plus I feel like I know so much about you that you haven’t even told me yet.” “Is that right?” I smiled and pulled him in for a kiss. “You know how our timing’s just perfect cause it’s spring? I love when things work out the way you planned it.” he said pulling me in to kiss me on my temple. “Yes. Thank you for doing this. I love it.” I said hugging him and resting my head on his chest. “But I think it could be better.” he said looking at me. “What could be better than this?” I challenged him pointing out the field. “This.”
Zayn went down on one knee and I just knew what was about to happen.
