In this case, I'm going to say one person in the group drifted away and now they want to get back together 'cause I feel like that's the more common choice.
Basics
1. When did they drift away?
2. Why did they?
3. Was it by choice or force?
3. What were the effects of it?
4. Why do they want to be friends again?
5. What are some struggles they are going to face when they try to get back together?
Tips
1. When the person comes to realization that they want to apologize, they shouldn't do it right away. Obviously, they're going to have anxiety over it and believe that their former friends aren't going to forgive them.
2. The friends shouldn't accept the person's apology right away. Maybe even days will pass before they do.
3. There should be that one friend that doesn't forgive the person as soon as the others. Usually this stirs up a romance, but maybe not. Maybe they were just closer than the rest of the group.
4. The person that apologized will still beat themselves up over leaving them and letting their relationship go to nothing.
5. Give them random/small arguments until there's a big either between the whole group or with them and the person that doesn't want to forgive them.
Sorry this is so short! I've never read or even watched anything with this kind of trope. I also couldn't find any reliable resources, so I kinda just made this up. Don't be a silent reader and go ahead and give me some ideas!
