AN ; angst coming soon, dearies
"So he's your boyfriend now?" Jeremy asked as he lazily mopped up the floor, being too tired to properly do his job considering how busy this Monday had been.
This being the only time he was able to have a proper conversation with you without the interruptions of children or angry parents. Dave and Mr Guy had shown up to work all day and most of the employees left or called in sick which meant it was just you and the blonde working together all day.
"I guess? I don't know, I don't like to put labels on stuff." You shrugged and sprayed more sanitised on the large table, using a cloth to wipe it clean after.
"Fair enough but I'd say he's your boyfriend, now." Jeremy chuckled and continued to move the mop lazily. "He's probably not in today because of how astonished he is to be the wonderful Y/Ns boyfriend."
"That doesn't explain Mr Guy not coming in, though." You frowned as you thought about how strange it was for the texan and your boss not to be in. "It's weird."
"I'm sure they're fine! Anyways, want me to drive you home?" Jeremy placed the mop against a wall and carefully walked over the wet tiles, trying not to slip over considering his trainers had no grip. "It's cold outside."
"I don't know if I want to risk a fatal car accident or a the cold." You chuckled as Jeremy just groaned at you and grabbed his coat and yours.
"I'll drive you." He stated and you just rolled your eyes, locking the doors of the diner behind you and making your way out into the parking lot. Jeremy had his truck, that you were pretty sure he couldn't drive, parked just over one of the lines that you were pretty sure Mr Guy would reprimand him for.
You hesitantly got into your friends car and let him drive you home, mind constantly worrying about where Dave was and if he was okay.

"You're dating my best employee, Mr Miller?" Philip looked at Dave who gave a questioning look at larger man - one that screamed what do you mean by that.
"Is there an issue?" Dave asked with a hint of venom laced in his tone. Truly, he did not care at all if Philip disapproved of his new relationship with you and he would continue to pursue it even if everyone hated it.
"Of course not, Mr Miller. It's just, well, Y/N never got over Mr Afton. That's all." Philip nudged his large glasses further up the bridge of his nose, remembering how he'd often see you doing anything for Williams attention back when he and Henry were still around.
When William got springlocked you were one of the first people to be at the hospital, to be at his bedside and doing your best to show your support and care for the Brit. Philip felt bad for William but knew that it must have been some strange karma for the absolute bastard the man actually was. But he understood how you felt and certainly saw why you were so distraught during the entire time.
"Well, they like me now. Not Mr Afton." Dave rolled his eyes. Everything was about damn William, something he would usually relish in but recently it had become nothing but an annoyance to him.
"I'm sure they do like you, Mr Miller. It's just, the love they had towards Mr Afton was very strong. Sort of, well... it was they're one true great love I guess." Philip thought about it. "Sure, the pair never actually dated but I'm sure Mr Afton understood the feelings that Y/N had towards him and I'm sure he liked them back, too."
Dave raised an eyebrow at Philip, urging the man to continue and so he did.
"I don't know how to say it, really. I suppose it was the right person but wrong time?" Philip asked himself before nodding confidently. "Yeah. That's it."
"So, what? I'm the right person right time." Dave looked outside the car window, refusing to look at Mr Guy in spite. His mind flickered to being held in your arms, in your bed and being each other's for the few hours you had before he woke up and left your house as if none of it had happened. And now the little seeds of doubt about your feelings for him were being planted in his mind.
"Or you could be the same as William." Philip shrugged without realising how that's as the final straw to trigger Dave.
"SHUT UP! THEY LOVE ME, ALRIGHT!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, unable to control himself or his emotions any longer. That was the effect you had on the man, he was usually able to keep himself in check and have everything bottled up inside.
"Mr Miller, I'm sorry." Philip apologised after collecting himself. "I'm just..."
Philip sighed, collecting all of his thoughts before he spoke any further. Before he came your boss the two of you had a good relationship, him often being your support when it came to William and he did believe the tow of you could be a good couple. He tried to be your emotional support when the Brit went missing but the two of your drifted away, you retreated into a shell that he couldn't bring you out of.
He viewed you like his little sibling, someone he wanted to look after and protect after everything that had happened. The missing kids and the stress that caused you after you had met and liked some of them, Fritz especially. When William went missing it was as if he couldn't do anything other than say "it's okay" and he didn't mean the words. Nothing was okay.
"I used to be close with Y/N. So look after them." Philip said and crossed his arms, the cold of the car becoming worse as the wind outside got worse and the sky became darker. They had been trapped inside the damn car for hours and it seemed like no help was ever coming for them.
Dave didn't reply to what Philip had said, instead opting to climb into the back of the car and lie down on the leather seats and prepare himself for another few dreaded hours of being trapped inside the car.
He could only think of getting out of the car and making his way to your house and reassuring you that he could look after you. He wanted nothing more than to tell you that he wasn't going anywhere, at least he didn't think he was. He just wanted to be the right person at the right time unlike what Philip had said.
He was still William Afton, the right person at the wrong time.
He was Dave Miller, possibly the right person at the right time.
He couldn't tell if he was both or neither anymore, or if he was just one. It had all become so very confusing. Even more so when he couldn't tell whether you preferred William or Dave.
Shorter chapter but I want the next one to be a long angst chapter,, i don't think this book is going to have anymore than 10 chapters. Possibly less? If that's the case I'm probably going to make another book with my own version of William, that way I can write more about how I view his character 😌
