AN; this chapter is a mental breakdown and you can see it 😌

William wasn't a religious man, he thought it was too tedious to really get into but he respected those who had the devotion towards their own gods. Despite his atheistic views, he did see the remnant he held in his hands like the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden.

He supposed that Scotty and Vince were the two foolish humans who would eat the forbidden fruit provided by the snake; he would assume the role of the serpent. He was the provider of the very thing that provided enteral life despite it being created from the end of others lives. If Williams ego was larger than it was he would very easily have called himself god in his own little story but he wouldn't be able to take on such a role.

He was the snake, a metaphor for the devil and all the sins that he can and could commit on earth. That way, William could very easily look up at you as his own personal angel. An angel helping him to his salvation, if he deserved it or not never being in the question.

The walk to your house seemed to get longer every time he made his way there, it seemed longer now he dragged a suitcase down the streets in the darkness of the night. All he had to do was give you the remnant, watch as it coursed through your veins with a light purple glow and watch your eyes glow just as his did. He wanted it to be a moment only he got to witness, it would be so perfect.

Then, he would leave. He didn't want to corrupt you anymore than he had to, he was only giving you his gift so you wouldn't die when he was gone and he hoped, in some way, both of your souls would be connected. The hope seemed like a stupid one to have, it was unrealistic but nothing seemed real at this point.

"Where the hell were you today?" You asked him when you opened the door to reveal his figure. He sure had a thing with disappearing and then showing up suddenly at your front door. "Philip will fire you and hire someone else for your job if you don't come in tomorrow."

You opened the door wider so he could walk in, only now noticing the suitcase he dragged behind him and finding yourself concerned and your heart squeezing in distress.

"I'm not coming back for awhile." He said and moved towards the nearby table, emptying his pockets of remnant and preparing it for you. "After this, I'm leaving."

"Davey... I thought you said that you wouldn't leave me, what changed?" You crossed your arms as you came closer to the fake blonde, watching as he concentrated on pouring a pink liquid into a syringe.

"I realised something." He bluntly said and nodded to himself when he was done with his handiwork. "Give me your arm."

"Is that fucking heroin? Are you trying to drug me up?!" You took a step away and shook your head.

"D-" he stuttered. "Do you know what heroin looks like?!"

"Do you?!"

"Yes and it doesn't focking look like this!" He waved his arms as he shouted back at you.

"Then, what is it?" You looked at the link liquid inside of the syringe, noting how pretty it was to look at as it bubbled.

"I call it remnant." He smirked as he began to tell you about his greatest creation. "It gives us enteral life, I've had it and my brother and his husband or whatever had it."

"Vince? How is he?" You sidetracked much to Williams annoyance.

"He's fine! Now, back to this-"

"I haven't seen him for awhile, is all. Anyways, please continue."

He sighed. "If we both live forever then we can be together no matter what." He said with much less extravagance than he wanted but he wasn't sure if you'd continue to disrupt him and the speech he had planned in his head the entire walk here.
