Jeremy placed the slushy cup down and began creating the chaotic mesh of flavours that he found to be so delicious, he glanced over to the table you sat at with your watermelon slushy that you drank miserably with your thoughts. He frowned, he shouldn't have pushed you into getting with Dave because he disappeared just like Mr. Afton had.

The first week after his disappearance was miserable for the entire place, he had to watch you lash out against children who would then cry and sour the mood even more in the damn diner. Then, you settled down and just moped around with watermelon slushys because that Daves favourite flavour. Guilt had puddled up inside of him every time he saw you and he couldn't stop it.

There would be a way to distract him from those feelings and thoughts of regret because there was a new employee starting today, he just hoped it wasn't another goddamn Dave or some senile elder that would bore the hell out of him.

SLAM!

The door to the diner opened and scared the blonde who turned to look at who had entered, knowing that it was most likely the new guy here for work.

"Oh, hey! You must be the new guy!" Jeremy looked at the guy who had entered. The man took off his sunglasses when he came inside and Jeremy felt his cheeks warm and his hand begin to freeze because of the blueberry slushy spilling from his cup and all over his hand. This guy was beautiful.

"Yeah, I'm not too early am I?" Michael asked, finding himself staring at the blonde in front of him for a little too long.

Neither of the two were able to see how you looked over at them, seeing how they were so clearly into each other in an instant - something you were sure you and Dave had. Yet he still left. Just like William had.

You knew they were the same person but you had ended up separating their identities to make it easier on yourself in some strange way. It would be worse, you thought, if the same guy left you twice and be better if it was two different men instead. You hadn't slept well in days, unable to fall asleep when you had the constant hope that he would knock at your door like he had done for a few nights. To be honest, this new guy looked a little like Dave and William.

Strange, but it was most likely nothing. He wouldn't come back so soon and the new guy looked a lot younger than your missing lover.

"I'm Jeremy, nice to meet you...?" Jeremy held his hand out to the new guy, who took the blondes hand into his own. You found it stupid how red Jeremy's face went but you were sure that you did the exact same with Dave.

"Fritz."

"Fritz..." Jeremy repeated. Well, at least you were able to keep your internal thoughts internal instead of saying them out loud. Or the younger man was like you, finding the name of this potential love interest so nice to say and repeat over and over. You often did it with both William and Daves names.

"Well, Y/N, me and you are gonna be working the dayshift together, Fritz!" Jeremy leaned on the slushy machine after throwing the remains of his drink onto his face to cool himself down. Fritz seemed utterly clueless to this and let Jeremy begin to show him around after a quick, "I hope you're ready for Freddys!"

"Y/N?" Fritz asked as Jeremy began to lead him towards the main hall of the diner.

"She was one of the children entertainer employees but changed to day shift guard." Jeremy pointed towards where you sat, your attention now towards the paperwork you offered to do for Philip on the less active days of the restaurant. "Something happened and she started scaring the kids instead of, yknow, making them have fun."

"Ah." Fritz scratched the back of his neck as he looked at your form, leaning over the table to write onto the stack of paperwork you had. You were familiar to him, the name was too.
