THE DOORS TO THE GREAT HALL OPENED WITH A CREAK, and a hush spread through the tables as a wave. The girl didn't tense at the sudden whispers and lowering of voices. The great hall pretty much looked the same, Y/n noted with a muse, as she let her quick e/c eyes flicker around the large, familiar place.

Unexpectedly though, her gaze fell upon a pair of dark eyes, which seemed to quickly widen upon recognization, however Y/n merely blinked and looked away then started to confidently make her way to the far end of the table,  seemingly oblivious to all the whispers and hissy tones.

All eyes were on her. It was time for Y/n to make her entrance and show them what she was made of. There was no room for doubt , no room for second guesses, no room for error. This was her start. This was her game. This was her moment. She was going to pull out all the stops and lay it all on the line.

'You filthy monster! Get away from me!'         'Miss Cole! Y/n is being freaky again!'        'Maybe a good beating would put you in your place'

'We'll protect you Y/n..."

She had a pleasant expression gracing her features, which contrasted well with the shocked ones of a particular set of twins. Y/n knew she had to keep her cool. It's been so long since she'd seen them— but that couldn't falter her. She was not the pathetic little girl of Wool's orphanage anymore.

No, she was so much better.

Matteo stopped breathing.

It's like the breath had been punched out of his lungs and he was just about to swallow his own tongue when he finally made out the figure standing at the entrance of the great hall.

The male couldn't take his eyes off her. Like a desert wanderer afraid of mirages, he gazed at his oasis, but she was real. Y/n. The subject of so many of his sleepless nights, was standing right there, not a couple of feet away from him.
