It was a month before you could leave the hospital. Part of you wanted to leave when no one was looking, but Aaron was adamant that you stayed until you could walk on your own, even though your foot was in a cast and you were walking on a cast.
Long talks with the doctors about the right medication to take, more checkups, more questions when Aaron was out, them thinking that you're covering for him. Risks that you are more likely susceptible to: osteoporosis, the boot you have to wear for 6-12 weeks, and just being careful about what you eat and drink.
It was long and endearing, but it got you out. Aaron took you home and helped you to bed, bringing you a glass of water and soft snacks, after he got into bed next to you.
"Aaron..." You sighed. The thoughts from the previous month's events couldn't be stopped. You knew Riley was full of shit, but it created a seed of doubt. Creating these possibilities in your head.
Did he love you?
What actually happened with his brother?
What's actually happening with you both?
It was a lot, and your head couldn't take any more.
"What is it?" Aaron asked, pulling you towards him.
"What am I to you?" You asked weakly.
"What?" Aaron loosened the grip on you and looked at your eyes with such confusion on his face.
"You heard it." You said huffing, "You married the girl that did the dirty work for you, and we both know that I want out."
"I know you want out, that's why I moved heaven and Earth to get you back." Aaron sighed, "What has Riley said."
"This has nothing to do with Riley." You agitated back, away from his grip, "This has to do with us. The fact that you left for two weeks and didn't tell me anything, how was that fair on me."
"I wanted you to have as little contact with him as possible, so by leaving and not saying anything, I thought you would be safe." Aaron replied sitting up.
"I obviously wasn't safe, because he knew everything you did, and used it to make me feel like shit. By guilt tripping me about your father, it wasn't fair Aaron." You sighed, staring at the ceiling, "If I didn't say yes to killing my family, would you still ask me on a date?" You asked, staring at Aaron, who looked off to the room.
"Yes." He spoke confidently. Maybe it was the fact that he knows what he has now that encouraged him to say yes, maybe it was the fact that he was infatuated with you. Maybe... maybe he didn't mean it.
"You better not lie to me Aaron Christopher Hotchner!" Your brows furrowed as you pushed off the covers,
You didn't see this, but Aaron took a large gulp, as well as biting his gums, but he said nothing. Watering the seed of the doubt.
"Do you still want me around?" You asked, again.
"Yes."
Maybe...
Maybe...
"I'm of no value to you anymore, I'm not in the game and I doubt that I'll be able to go back in, so I'll ask once more. Are you sure you want to be with me."
"Y/n." Aaron spoke getting up off the bed, "Of course I want you around, when I walked into that training centre that day, I didn't think that i'll be asking you out, but it happened anyway. So yes, I want to be with you."
