"Excuse me." I say as I wrestle through the throngs of people to get to our seats. "Excuse me."
"Step aside bitches! Maxon Blake's girlfriend coming through!" Vanessa exclaims, literally parting the crowd with her bare hands.
I hear gasps around my family and I as people start taking me in. Recognition dawns in their eyes and slowly they open up a path for us and we make it to our seats.
While I may not appreciate people knowing who I am everywhere I go, it gets the job done. Besides, it's something I'm beginning to get accustomed to.
We arrive at our seats and have a great view of the field and of the tunnel where I know the players will run out of.
"Maxon picked a great spot for us." Trinity states, taking in the stadium as well.
"This is so cool! Damn, we get to see the players come out too! Hell yes!" Liam says from the other side of Trinity.
A little grin forms on my face as I take in my friends and family around me.
We take up almost half the row between my mom, Vanessa, Trinity, Leah, Liam and I. When I asked her where Adam was she didn't say anything and I scrunched up my brows. She didn't want to talk about it right now and I completely understood. Still, it means everything to me that Maxon put this all together. I joked around with him saying that he should be an event planner instead with how great he is at it and he said hell no. I chuckle at the memory.
"Mad, you should thank your man." Vanessa grins at me. "Did you see how easy it was to get here once I announced who you were?"
I frown. "Thanks for that."
"No prob."
Despite her being Luke's sister, Vanessa doesn't like the public knowing her private business so she tries to stay away from that.
I roll my eyes and look around the stadium at all the people here to watch the game. There are thousands. I can't believe just how big this sport is here in the U.S.
It amazes me everytime. Not that I go to Maxon's games often–mostly because I hate being by myself. The one time I went, I was put in the VIP section with the rest of the players' wives, girlfriend's, lovers', their significant others. Anyway, they spent the majority of the time glowering at me. I told Maxon to never put me there again and that I'd rather sit in the stands with the rest of the fans. So far, he's obliged. Albeit, reluctantly.
Today for example, he allowed it only because bodyguards are surrounding us. In fact, they are dressed casually sitting behind us.
Vanessa looks over her shoulder at one of them and gives him a wink.
"V, what are you doing?"
"Your bodyguard is hot. Excuse me if I can't flirt a bit."
I shake my head. Like brother, like sister. Flirty to a ten.
The lights turn low and the announcer's voice comes through the speakers.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Los Angeles Rams!"
The crowd cheers as the players come out on the opposite side from where we're sitting.
"And now please welcome...the New England Patriots!"
The crowd roars as the players run from out of the tunnel. Huh, who would've thought the people would cheer louder for the rival team.
The announcer's voice cuts through the music blaring. "Please welcome the New England Patriots quarterback...Luke Carter!"
