Once I finish my last pancake, I chug the rest of my water and then grab my plate, glass, and fork and apparently get up a little too fast, I realize as a wave of dizziness and pain hits me and I plop back into sitting in my chair and let out a small groan.

To be completely honest I keep forgetting my side is not the only thing hurt.

May walks over from the other side of the kitchen counter with a stern but sympathetic look on her face.

"Lani, I'm serious when I say you need to take it easy today. Ok?"

I pout looking down, I don't wanna 'take it easy' that's just plain boring,

"Ok??" She asks again but less like a question and more of a statement.

"Fine.." I say letting out a huff.

I hear a noise and turn my head to see Sage peeking around the corner giggling about the stern talking to I just received. Once she noticed I was looking at her, she quickly went to the door and started pulling on her shoes.

"Where is she going?" I ask

"School, today is Monday." She responds as she picks up my dishes and brings them around to the sink starts to wash them.

"Wait, you still go to school?" I exclaim as I realize I graduated school back when I was 11. Granted we had no weekends and I worked my ass's off, it was nice to not have to sit through math classes anymore.

"You don't?! LUCKYYYY!! Mom do I have to go to school?" Sage wines as she walks back into the kitchen.

"I mean I graduated when I was 11. I guess we have different educational systems in L'manburg." I say

My wings hurt so I scooted forward in my chair and tried to stretch them out.

"Shit!" I say as a shock of pain travels through my bones and I immediately relax them again.

Why do I keep forgetting I have fucking broken bones, like THAT'S NOT A NORMAL THING TO FORGET.

"Ok, Sage you need to get going for school and Lani you need to go back to bed before you accidentally rip your stitches again" May says offering me a hand to help me up.

Sage and I both look at each other and huff as she walks out the door and starts walking to school and I take May's hand to help me not to pass the fuck out as I get up.

Once we get to the room I was in earlier, she helps me get onto the bed and she puts a blanket over me.

"Now, you seriously need to get some rest ok?" May says

"Ok." I say

She walks out of the room and I realize just how tired I really am as my eyes slowly flutter shut.
