When I wake up I see there are a stack of clothes by the door. I sit up and groan when my wings hurt. I stand up and walk over to the pile of clothes. I see that there is also some gouse and a note written on some brown paper laying on top of the clothes, it reads,

"I found some of Sage's old clothes you can have, once you get ready come downstairs and we can head to town for breakfast my in you still feel up to it, Sage has the day off school so we may see her in town. -May"

I put the note down and pick up the clothes. I look through the clothes and find some ripped jeans, a shirt with a random band I don't know on it, and a zip up hoodie that will cover my wings. I go into the bathroom and put it all on careful of my wings that still hurt very bad and my side that has been getting better but slowly. I quickly brush my teeth with the toothbrush May left out for me and grab my bag, bow and arrows still attached, I should probably take that off to ya know...blend in.

I pull Wilburs hat on my head and secure technos necklace around my neck and put Philza's chain hooked to a small braid in my hair. Then I secure my dagger in its sheath and hook it to the back of the jeans and pull the hoodie over it so it is hidden.

I hear a knock on my door and turn around to see that it's May,

"Good morning" she says happily

"Good morning!" I say back

"You ready to go to town? There's a really cute coffee shop down in the village." She says

"Before we go, I was wondering if you have anymore gouse? I tap my wings to my back whenever I go out in public." I ask.

"Oh, of course." She responds quickly.

"I'll go grab some." She says as she hurries out of the room.

I take off the zip up hoodie and let my wings out while waiting for May to come back with the gouse.

"Here I got it-" she stops at the door and looks at me like I'm an alien.

Did I do something wrong?

"Sorry, I'm not used to people having wings." She says with a chuckle,

"Sorry" I say

"Oh, no need to be sorry, you didn't do anything wrong" she says while walking behind me.

"Would you like some help?" She asks

I think about it for a moment, I don't like people touching my wings but she seems curious so I nod my head, stretching out my wings one last time before being tied up for the day. I tuck my wings tight against my back and show May how I usually secure them.

"It's funny, I don't really know how else wings would work but I didn't really expect them to... like...be attached to your back, like the skin just converts into wings." She says as she wraps the gouse around my back.

I laugh as she says this, it never really occurred to me about the whole, science part of it. I honestly don't care about it that much.

"Ok, how does that feel?" She asks me.

I try to wiggle my wings but they don't budge,

"Perfect!" I reply while putting back on the zip up hoodie.

I grab my bag and follow her down the stairs and put the door.

"Town is only a two minute walk from here." She says as she walks off the driveway, turning to the right and walks onto the side of the road.

I follow swiftly and walk next to her

We walk along the side of the road for about 3 minutes and I notice the forest seems to get less and less dense and I can start to see some chimneys poking above the trees ahead with thin lines of smoke being whisked away in the warm breeze above.

"We are here!" May says excitedly as we walk into a clearing and I finally get a good look at the town. It's quite beautiful, all the shops and buildings have stone roves and look old and rustic. The street is made of cobble stone and the sidewalks are aswell. The town seemed to be busy with people, granted not even as close as busy as L'manburg was.

"Here is the bakery!" May says excitedly walking up onto the cobblestone path leading up to a small cottage looking shop. It had mossy stone roofing with a chimney poking out with a small trail of smoke rising out of it. The building itself was made with sage terra-cotta and big windows in either side of the wooden doors looking into the lines of pastry's lining the shelves.

I follow her up the pathway. The door chimes as May pulls it open and we both walk inside. Instantly I am over come by the smell of sweets and coffee immediately making me hungry.

"Welcome to Nikki's bakery! How may I help yo- oh hi May!" A women behind the counter says as she smiles as May. She has blond hair that is pink at the tips and she is wearing a sundress with little pink flowers on them.

"Hi Niki how have you been?" May says happily to the woman who I know know is Niki as she walks towards the counter.

"I am doing well how have you been? And who is this?" She says gesturing to me,

"I am doing well, and this is.....well....this is sage's cousin! Her names Lani!" May says stuttering.

"Oh, well hello there Lani nice to meet you I'm Niki!" Niki says to me waving,

"Nice to meet you too!" I respond with a smile,

"Do you want anything Lani?" May asks me after she ordered herself a tea.

"No thanks" I say

I follow May to a small table as we wait for her tea. Right when we sit down however I hear the familiar chime of the front door opening as I see Sage come through the door followed by three people looking to be about the same age as her. They talk to Niki for a minute and then I see Niki point at me and Sage looks my way confused and then shocked, I would be confused too if someone said an unknown cousin was in the cafe.

Then they talk for a minute and they start to walk over,

Shit.
