Letting go of each other the duo were forced to prepare for danger. As nightfall would come soon enough.
They had no idea if time worked differently here but they couldn’t risk that.
Lavender walked over to an oak tree and hit it once before yelling out in pain. Horrified to see her knuckles beginning to bleed.
This pain was so real. She hadn't even taken any real damage yet. What would a zombie feel like?!
Hawk rushed over to her side to check on her. "Lavender, what happened?!" He shrieked, worried for his friend.
Lavender swallowed the pain and looked at Hawk before speaking "I'm alright, you get food. We'll need it eventually."
Hawk was doubtful but nodded and ran off to get food for them. Perhaps a village? Maybe they could get bread.
Lavender bit her bottom lip before punching the tree over and over. It seemed to take longer than normal but that was probably due to the immense amount of pain she felt with every punch.
Eventually she got enough wood for a crafting table and an axe.
Then it hit her like a bunch of bricks in the face. How would she craft anything? The mechanics of the game didn't work how they used to.
After a few attempts she was able to figure out how to make a crafting table. She had to place the wood down in the formation of how she would in a 2 by 2 crafting that would commonly be in her inventory.
She placed down two wood blocks on the crafting table. The blocks trembled as if there was an earth quake. Before, in a swirling motion sticks were before her.
She knew several crafting recipes so making an axe was easy. Once it was made she took it to get more wood.
~Time Skip~
It had been a few hours now, she had stone tools for her and her companion. Luckily for them they had more than a few minutes in a day.
Time seemed to move similarly in this world as it did in their normal one.
She was snapped out of her thoughts by the sound of grass crunching.
Lavender looked up and saw Hawk, looking worn out. She couldn't judge though. She probably didn't look any better if not worse.Hawk gave her a slice of bread "To hold us over until we really need it." He said with the bravest smile he could muster.
Lavender grateful took it. The smell, the feel. She bit into it. The taste, this was no dream. This was their real life now.
Lavender handed Hawk the stone tools. "We need to get moving to find a good place to stay for tonight." She stated.
Hawk nodded and they walked side by side to find somewhere to stay the night from those monsters that were soon to come out of hiding.
