A Video Game Wish

Chapter 10: ~Late Night~

    Lavender tossed and turned in her bed. She couldn't sleep, although it wasn't because of Minecraft mechanics this time.

    Eventually she sat up, she looked over at the other tent and saw Frankie and Hawk resting peacefully. They would think this night was just a blink.

    Lavender then looked beside her and saw no one.

   Where was Raven?

    She got out of bed and tugged her long sleeved white shirt further down her arms, as the nights were cold.

   Lavender began to wander around, looking for Raven in the campsite.

   The campfire was still blazing giving her a slight sense of warmth.

    She eventually went back into her tent and grabbed her sword. She walked to the outskirts of the camp, eventually making her way up a tall hill.

   It was much taller and once she reached the top she was out of breath. Lavender huffed slightly and began looking around the top of the hill.

   Eventually she saw a slight incline to the edge of a cliff. She hesitantly walked towards it.

   As she walked further she saw the outline of a person sitting down, looking up at the stars.

  She got a bit closer, it was Raven but... what was he doing up?

   "Raven? What are you doing here?" She asked as she went to the edge of the cliff with him. She sat next to him.

   Raven sighed and spoke, continuing to stare at the stars as he did so, "Couldn't sleep, I'm just worried about what happens when we go to the end... What if it doesn't work? What if we can't ever get out of here..?"

   Lavender bit her bottom lip, when she was still in the real or.. human world, Raven had disappeared without a trace for seven months.

   She grabbed Raven's hand in her's causing him to look at her. "If we never get out of here, then we just.. live in this world forever I guess but I don't think it'll be all that bad. We have each other, our friends, and-"

  Raven suddenly embraced her tightly, she wrapped her arms around him as he sniffled quietly. "You've been here these past seven months... haven't you?" Lavender said.

  Raven nodded clinging to her as if he let go she would be gone forever.

  "I-I missed you a l-lot you know?" Raven said inbetween his soft whimpers.

   Lavender layed her head on his shoulder and said "I missed you too.. and here, we won't have to worry about time running out and once we get out of here I'm sure life will be a lot different."

   Raven nodded, they stayed like that for a long while before Raven eventually let go. "There's... something else you need to know about..."

   Lavender looked at Raven curiously, tilting her head slightly "What is it?" She questioned.

   "Sage is here too. He's after me."
