A Video Game Wish

Chapter 12: ~Damaged~

A/N: I'm kinda losing motivation for this- But I'll keep trying, maybe make a fan fiction so people can read the original stories I make XD

   The overwhelming heat hit like a ton of bricks in the face. Frankie put his hands on his knees and seemed to be struggling to breathe.

    Raven ran to his side and rubbed his back gently, trying to sooth him in anyway he could.

    Lavender was trying to figure out why Flyer would be more weak than the rest of them.

    Hawk then spoke up "He took the wither effect for me. He stepped in front and got hit, this is all my fault!"

    Hawk fell to his knees, seeming to be overwhelmed with guilt.

    Frankie eventually was able to stand up properly.

    Both Lavendrr and Hawk looked over when they heard Raven gasp in horror.

     Lavender covered her mouth with her hands. The familiar white of one of Frankie's eyes had been turned to a void color of black.

     As much as they needed to leave this area it would be hard with Frankie in this condition.

    Hawk walked over to Frankie and had him wrap his arm around his shoulder. He began to lead Frankie to where they blocked themselves in from.
 
    "We can't stay here." Hawk stated. Raven and Lavender followed.

     Lavender mined them a path out so they could find somewhere away from the portal to stay for a while.

     Thankfully there were no ghasts and the ones that were there were easy to kill as there weren't many.

    Hawk, trying to lift everyone's spirits said "Hey, at least we're not in a soul sand valley!"

   Raven smiled slightly, it was hard for any of them to be happy in this situation.

    They were being hunted by someone and Frankie could be dying and they had no idea how to fix it as the effect had already worn off.

    After hours of traveling the group stumbled upon the nether fortress. Even though they felt like they hadn't traveled far enough away from the portal they needed the blaze rods.

    Raven dug into the wall to make a temporary base for them. Lavender helped Hawk walk Frankie to the temporary base as Frankie was barely able to walk at this point.

   "It's probably good that we're stopping here" Lavender said softly as they sat Frankie down on the netherack floor. They wanted to place down a bed or carpet for him to rest on but didn't want to risk the chance of anything burning or blowing up.

   Frankie sighed and leaned his head against the wall, closing his eyes. Just resting for the time being.

    "Wait... Lavender! How many potion recipes do you remember?!" Hawk said, excitedly, it seemed like he had an idea.

   Lavender then replied "All of them, why do you ask? Wait... Oh my gosh you're a genius."

   Raven looked at the duo and asked "What... are y'all on about?"

    "Health potion." They said in sync, giggling slightly at how in tune they were with each other.

    Raven smiled, "that's smart! We just need to get... the materials..." as he said that his smile faded.

    Hawk sucked in a breath and seemed to get nervous, knowing they had to go to the fortress.

    Lavender looked down at the floor and bit her bottom lip gently, messing with her hair nervously.

   Hawk then said "I'll go. I'll get the blaze rods and netherwarts."

  Lavender then volunteered to go with him.

  Raven was hesitant, trying to come up with some other plan but he was cut off by Lavender.

    "We'll be okay." She said reassuringly. Trying to keep a brave face, knowing they needed to save Frankie and get to the end.

  Raven sighed and said "Please be careful. I'll stay and try to take care of Frankie."

    Lavender nodded and pulled out her sword, looking over at Hawk.

    "Ready to go on another nether fortress raid?"

    "You know I always am."
