25:  Closure

Sasha prepared to turn over the page, but there were no other pages left to turn.  She'd finished reading it.  All two-hundred and three pages.

Urgh.  That was a lot of reading.

Olivia was scanning her face for any kind of reaction.  "Well?"  She said.

"I'm Aodh's descendant as much as Felix is."  She stated.  "You don't appear to hate me quite as much as you do Felix.  Why?"

"Because," Olivia said, "Hephzibah has never showed any dislike to you.  If she had, you wouldn't be sitting here.  I suppose, only the eldest of each generation carries on the feud, or takes the name of Hephzibah or Aodh.  So, you don't really count as the child of Aodh in the same way, although technically you're as related to him as Felix is."

"Has there ever been that with Hephzibah, then?  That there's a second child?"

Olivia pursed her lips and said nothing.  Sasha hated it when she did that.  Come on.  She's thought the whole secrecy thing was over?

Well, for Olivia.  Sasha still had her half of the deal to go.

Yeah.  About that...

"You know what?"  Sasha said, "I'm having serious second thoughts about telling you my story now.  Do you think we could...?"

Olivia sighed in frustration, and the cushion Sasha was sitting on suddenly grew cacti.

"OW!"  Sasha protested.

"A deal's a deal."  Olivia said.  "We agreed what we agreed.  And I will be very, very annoyed with you if you don't keep your half of the bargain."

Dang it.  Sasha had long since learnt that Olivia was a person you did NOT want to get on the wrong side of.

"Well, go on."  Olivia tilted her head.

"Huh?"

"Begin."

"What?!"

"Sasha, I've told you my life story.  Now it's your turn."
