Chapter 4 - That Awkward Moment

Reece

"Reece, .. we are home! Where are you?" Called out my mother.

Chills go down my spine. And I realize how awkward this situation is.

I hope that if I stay quiet, she won't look for me...

"Reece, I can't meet your parents like this! Do something!" Says Maddie, with an edge of fear to her voice.

"Ssh Maddie, stay down."

I hear footsteps slowly getting quieter, indicating that my parents are walking away.

I usher Madison to sit up, but put a finger to my lips when the sofa creaks.

Suddenly, as I go to stand up, Madison does the same and we trip over each other's feet and fall onto the floor.

A loud thud erupts and she falls directly on top of me.

"Well, that's one way to get on top of me" I say.

She giggles, but before we can stand up, I hear the footsteps getting louder now, and usher Madison to move, but its too late.

"Reece you little brat, come and do this washing-... REECE, WHO IS THIS?"

I realise that there is no way I can get out of this, and I wish the ground would just open and swallow me up.

Madison blushes massively. She tries to sit up, but that just reveals her topless state. She picks her top up, shoves it on and goes to walk out, but my mum grabs her arm, and pulls her back.

I go to leave, and I feel Reeces mum's arm grab mine and she pulls me back.

I don't think it is possible to be in a more awkward situation.

"H-hello Mrs Bibby, n-nice to meet you" I stutter out. God I sound like a mental patient..

"And who might you be"

"She's my girlfriend, mum. Her names Madison." Reece covers for me, and I am grateful, yet a big part of me is still mad at him.
He said his parents wouldnt be back for a few days.

"Madison, this is my mum, Lyndsey and mum, this is Madison."

She loosens her grip on my arm, so I now feel free again. However, it doesnt make this any easier.

"But you already have a girlfriend Reece... Crystal. Shes a pretty one.. why would you want to be seen with this her, shes average Reece... God your choices are awful... DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?" Blurts out Lyndsey.

Did she say what i thought... I am furious yet offended massively. I feel Tears growing in my eyes, and I try to blink them back... But its no use.

Everything he's said to me has been a lie.

"See, shes pathetic. Already blubbing like a baby, go on.. get out, i dont want to see you here ever again."

I sprint out the door, sobbing now, and slam the door behind me.

I hear footsteps behind me... And Reece grabs my shoulder and spins me round. 

"Maddie, dont take it so Seriously!"

"Really! I thought more of you Reece. Are you going to explain who Crystal is? Or do i not even deserve an explanation?"

"Look, baby shes no-one, its just my parents trying to get you to hate me... Because they always destroy everything that makes me happy, so please dont leave me like this, i wanna go somewhere with you."

I forgive him almost instantly, and he embraces me with a warm hug, and when were done he pulls me closer to him and kisses me softly, reminding me why i still love him.

He slides my hand into his grasp and squeezes slightly. We walk down the road towards the mall- "but Reece, you hate shopping?"

"Don't worry Maddie, I'll do anything for you." Shivers go down my spine- he really does know how to win me over.

"Where do you wanna go first princess?" Reece questions me.

"Mmm, River Island could be fun" i say with a wink. He sighs, but follows me inside.

"Oh look Maddie, this top sums you up- it says 'me, sarcastic? Never"

"Ahaha wow nice joke Reece" i smirk at him.

"That was a sarcastic smile Mads"

I grin, and agree to go and try the t-shirt on.

He pulls me out a size 8... Actually picking out my size perfectly.

He throws it at me and pushes me towards the changing room, like hes desperate to get rid of me.

I go inside the changing room, which are remarkably small for such a big store. I wriggle out of my top and slide the 'sarcastic' top on, he really does know me too well.

*Ping*

Oo text from James:

'Hey baby, cant wait to see you in your top... Come out of the changing room when you're ready'

After messing about with my hair for a while i decide that i'm ready.

I step outside the changing room expecting too see Reece waiting for me, except from it is a completely different scenario.

All i can see is Reece with his lips pressed to another girls, and i can tell from here exactly who she is.
