Trying at love

Chapter 6~Friends always help

I've decided that I will do okay without Reece. I just have to erase him out of my mind, like putting all our memories together in a box and throwing it into a river. That's what I have to tell my brain.

At least I could avoid him..except he goes to my school and pretty much everyone I like, love him.

Its ok, I'll call my friends, they always know what to do.

*ringing*

So I've decided to call Cherry, because she always listens and I feel like she is the most sympathetic.

"Hello my darlin' I haven't heard from you for days, what is going on with you?" Says Cherry.

And that's all it takes, all it takes to completely tip me over the edge.
I find myself sobbing suddenly, unable to hold back the tears, I don't know what it is, but if people are nice to me, I fall to pieces.

"Mads, are you okay? I didn't realise just my voice could make you cry"

I can tell she is grinning through the phone, Joking with me to try and cheer me up.

"C-cherry, I-its over, m-me and reece, I could work it out"

"Oh Babe I'm so sorry, well I always thought there was something off about him."

I don't know how she does it, but Cherry always seems to say the right thing in my time of need.

"Alright Mads, get your lazy ass up and stop wimping, we're going for some retail therapy, meet me at the Westview shopping centre in 10 minutes, chop chop hun"

Then she hangs up.

To be honest she has a point, I havent shopped in ages, so this should make me feel better.

I arrive at the shops, and I go over to Starbucks because that is where I am most likely to find Cherry~buying a coffee.

I walk in and order a smoothie and go and sit at a table for two, on a worn looking, but comfortable, lived in chair. This is my favourite Starbucks (Even though I don't drink Coffee) because it just feels welcoming.

I sit sipping my smoothie and looking out The window, wondering where the Hell Cherry is, she's 10 minutes late now.

I hear a couple of rowdy boys entering the cafe and don't even look up until one of them taps me on the shoulder.

"What do you want--" then I turn around to see Reeces big eyes staring at me.

I inhale deeply, not wanting to breathe.

Suddenly a surge of anger bubbles up inside me and I slap Reece across the face.

"Woah Maddie you bitch, I just wanted to make sure that you are ok! Stupid slut..."

He goes to walk away and I grab his shirt from behind, yanking him back.

"What did you call me?" I shout out.

"Stupid slut. You got a problem?"

"Yes actually Reece I have several problems with you at the moment. So why don't you take you and your new girlfriend Crystal and go fuck yourself"

I stand up, and march past a stunned Reece, and walk away knowing that I have done the right thing.

As I step out of Starbucks I see Cherry, her face full of shock.

"Way to go Mads. Jeez I think i'll avoid your bad side.."

I throw my arms around her, and bring her into a big hug, and smell her familiar smell of vanilla, and relax, knowing that there is someone in my life who cares, someone who makes me feel at ease.

"Come on Mads, lets go shopping"

And we walk away towards the first shop of the day~Topshop. And already I am so excited.

*a few hours later*

Me and Cherry try to get all our bags into the doors of Pret a manger for some lunch, because I am absoloutely ravenous.

I fall back into the comfy chairs, dropping my bags on the floor to give my arms a rest.

I have had a very successful day and it is only 2 o' clock, what else could I achieve?

I tell Cherry I would like a chicken sandwich, and she goes off to order.

I sit back in the armchair and lean over to grab 'the daily times' because for some reason I just love reading the newspaper.

On the front of the newspaper the headline is

"New X factor boyband, Stereo Kicks get a record deal with Simon Cowell, and they are currently working on a new song called 'love me so'"

Urgh I never watch all those rubbish programmes with people trying to show off their talents.

I go to turn over the page, when a particular name jumps out at me...

"The band contains 8 young and attractive lads, so this will definetely go down good with the ladies. The boys are:

James Graham
Tom Mann
Jake Sims
Barclay Beales
Charlie Jones
Chris Leonard
Casey Johnson, and
Reece Bibby."

I re-read the article about 4 times, re-reading that name in my head. Reece Bibby
Reece Bibby
Reece Bibby
Reece Bibby.

He was in a band.

He can sing

He was on the TV.

I suddenly feel betrayed. He never said anything to me.

I am in the middle of wanting to slap him, and wanting to find out answers.

Cherry comes back over with a tray of food, and I smile and wave her over.

"Hey Mads, I got your chicken sandwich-"

"Look Cherry, as much as I would love to spend the rest of the day with you, I have to find some answers. Read the newspaper~you'll understand."

I see Cherry's stunned face as I stand up and leave, yet I push forward and go back to Starbucks to see if Reece is still there.

I storm into Starbucks, checking around the cafe until I see Reeces beautiful blonde quiff that I adore, I mean used to adore so much.

I march over to him and I see one of mates say to him "Ey pal your bestie is back again."

The guy who said it looks around 20, with dark brown eyes and arms filled with tatoos. He stands up, as if to protect Reece, and I realise he is only about 5 foot 5, what a shrimp.

"And what are you gonna do small guy- stand on me with your tiny feet?"

I see him blush and feel bad for a few seconds, yet then I realise what side he is on.

I go up to Reece and pull him around to face me.

"Boy oh boy~you have a lot of explaining to do, so I suggest you sit tight and give me the truth."
