So a I saw some people make lists of their favorite music, and I was like "GHGHJGGHHGHHGGH I'm making one!"
So here you go.
I'm not putting all of my favorite music, because I have a TON of songs to choose from, so this will be in multiple parts. I'm also listing why I like these songs too.
I'll be sure to show more another day. :D
1. "The Pretender" -Foo Fighters
Where do I begin? Seeing this song in concert BLEW MY MIND. I saw the Foo Fighters when they preformed for their series "Sonic Highways" and it taught me something. All music is perfect. It starts from just strumming a button on a string, and then it manages to change us. It allows us to find who we are. This song lit my heart aflame. :D It is definitely a true art. Dave Grohl always makes sure to deliver the vocals with great power, Taylor Hawkins beats the drums with sheer force, Chris Shiflett makes sure the guitar is heard, and heard well, and Nate Mendell sends that bass flying. Even the music video is breathtaking.
2. "Before I Forget" -Slipknot
I can't explain why I love this song more than any other song except "The Pretender," but It got me through some hard times. I guess it's Mick Thompson and Jim Root's guitar skills? Idk.
3. "Adam's Song" -Blink182
EVERYTHING in this song is amazing. The lyrics, Tom DeLonge's voice, Travis Barker's drumming, Mark Hoppus' guitar. I love it.
4. "Through The Fire And Flames" -Dragonforce
OH MY GOD. This is my dream song to play on guitar. I LOVE DRAGONFORCE! My name comes partially from this band! And this song is a masterpiece. Herman Li is my Chinese guitar god.
5. "Everything Zen" -Bush
Where do I begin? First, the lyrics. "Everything Zen, Everything Zen, I don't think so." Then the overdriven guitar during the intro is energizing, and the beat is perfect.
6. "Pain" -Jimmy Eat World
I saw these guys in concert back yonder with The Gaslight Anthem, and it was breathtaking. This song especially, really took the show. The lyrics are also amazing.
7. "Breathe Today" -Flyleaf
This song kicks ass. Like "Everything Zen" it really manages to energize me. The lyrics and guitar are awesome.
8. "Falling Down" -Atreyu
I love everything about it, especially the lyrics. And the guitar is nothing short of amazing. Same with the bass.
9. "Feel Good Inc." -Gorillaz
This song is the pure essence of beauty to my ears. It has a perfect baseline that I know by heart, beautiful vocals and lyrics, an amazing drum beat, and some B.A. acoustic guitar. And the music video, and any Gorillaz music video for that matter, is very well made.
10. "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" -Rise Against
These bastards have dodged me too much. I had around three opportunities to see them, one of which I had tickets for. This song is certainly very powerful. The instruments are mastered perfectly, and so are the lyrics.
11. "Still Waiting" -Sum 41
The lyrics, man. And the guitar is killer! The drumming and bass are great as well.
12. "Duality" -Slipknot
Most definitely one of Slipknot's finest works. The guitar is great, the lyrics too, and especially the drumming.
13. "Kick Me" -Sleeping With Sirens
This song totally invigorates me. It gives me maximum overloads of energy. The guitar is certainly something special too.
14. "Again" -Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
This opening. THIS OPENING. As soon as I heard it, I learned it on guitar. That guitar, oh my god...
15. "Hearts Burst Into Fire" -Bullet For My Valentine
Jkjjkjjjjjjj this song is too amazing. When I say this is perfect, I damn well assure you it's perfect. Everything about it makes me want to cry. It's just too amazing.
I hope some of you saw something you like. I will definitely list more on a future date. ;)
