We walked around with Stephen as he told us about himself and spoke about his love of literature and horror. He didn't question us; it was like he already knew who we were.

He decided to bring us home to meet his mother. Stephen told us to pretend to be his teachers.

"I think my mother wouldn't like it if I developed a friendship with two adult strangers." he said as we turned the bend and faced his house.

It was a nice, cosy little house. Stephen walked in with the Doctor and I trailing behind.

"Hi mom. I'm home. This is my science teacher. Er..."

"Smith. John Smith. Head of the science department. And this lovely lady here is the English teacher, Miss Emily." The Doctor covered for both of us.

"Nice to meet you both. Please, make yourselves at home. I'm Nellie, by the way."

We followed Stephen inside and he quickly showed us to his room before dinner was ready.

I was checking out one of the pictures in his room, when I realized the Doctor and I were alone in the room.

"Do you really think I'm lovely?" I asked him teasingly.

He sort of blushed and smiled. "Yeah, I do."

I looked at the Doctor and realized I thought he was very handsome. And very smart, kind and interesting.

Before anything else could be said, we were called to dinner. Stephen sat beside the Doctor and I sat next to Nellie.

Stephen fabricated a story about how he was doing well in both science and English and that he was going to win an award in both classes.

His mother seemed impressed but also preoccupied. All in all, they seemed okay together.

Yet something felt off. I couldn't tell what it was, but something on the air gave me an eerie, anxious feeling.

"It was nice to meet you both. I hope Stephen isn't much of a burden in class." Nellie said, breaking the silence between all of us.

"No, he's wonderful! That's why we're awarding him. Trust me, he's going to go far in life." The Doctor told her, smiling fondly at the would-be author.

"I'm glad to hear it. You two come back anytime." And with that, we made our way out of the house. Yet I still couldn't shake that feeling of worry and fear.

"Something's not right. Can you feel it in the air? It's thick and full of dread." The Doctor mused, looking at me.

"Yeah. I have been for a while now. What is it?" I asked him, as we made our way back into the town.

"I'm not sure. I think I'll need the help of the TARDIS to figure this one out." We walked passed the town and back to the beach to finally the TARDIS.

"It's odd how you got inside that night we first met...since I had locked the door." The Doctor mumbled.

"What?"

"Nothing..." he opened the door and in we went.

The Doctor began using the console at the center to get an analysis of the air. I just decided to find something more comfortable to wear.

"Awh now why did you go and get rid of the skirt?" The Doctor teased.

Blushing, I replied, "I wanted to wear something more comfortable."

I walked up to the Doctor and asked him if he had figured it out.

"I have, but you aren't going to like what I found out." The Doctor said, concerned.

"What is it?" I pressed. I wanted to know.

"Wendigo."
