The Doctor and I decided to spend the night in the TARDIS, seeing as it is bigger on the inside. There must be some kind of bedroom in there.

After our date, we were a little silent and moody. I knew that I liked the Doctor, but he was a nine hundred year old Time Lord. There was a huge age gap not to mention the species difference.

He seemed to to be already fond of me. A little nervous to like someone else after loving Rose, but he still seemed into me.

I just couldn't stop thinking about the Wendigo the whole night as we fell asleep in our respective rooms.

I felt afraid and alone, so I decided to curl up next to The Doctor in his bed. He accepted me with open arms and we fell asleep peacefully afterwards.

When I awoke, The Doctor was gone and I still had a small feeling of dread within me. The Wendigo was definitely a powerful being that we would have to watch out for.

Once I reached the Console room, The Doctor greeted me and we decided to go see young Stephen King for more clues.

He, of course, had been waiting for us at the town's cemetery. The young man was excited as he had discovered what we had.

"I've read up on this kind of stuff before. The Wendigo is real and in Maine. Look, I need your help. My friend Tom, he's in a bit of a problem and I know the Wendigo is behind it all."

"What's the matter with him? What's his problem?" I asked, hoping it wasn't anything to severe.

"He's been..well, he's been getting into trouble lately. At school as well as at home. One day I followed him home from school, and I found out that he goes to the abandoned railroad tracks. Every day is a different ritual but it always ends up with him killing....killing cats." Stephen explained.

"Doctor, we have to help him. The Wendigo is making his friend kill and possibly eat cats." I said, watching Stephen cringe at my last statement.

"You're right, we need to figure this one out. Show us where he usually kill these cats."

We make our way across town and into the main forest. Thirty minutes later, we are in front of the abandoned railroad tracks. There are other tracks that are still used, but sometimes those trains take this route to take a short cut.

There is a smell of coal and death in the air, and the sense of dread is the strongest it has ever been.

I look at the Doctor and I realize this place is just full of evil. There's no sign of Stephen's friend Tom, but I still don't feel like hanging around.

Just then someone emerges from the bushes and it's a young boy near Stephen's age. I figure this must be Tom.

"What are you doing here Stephen? Who are these losers?" Tom asked, smirking at us.

"I'm here to help you. This is Emily and The Doctor, and they want to help you."

Tom didn't look pleased and he brought out a kitten from his backpack. I really hoped he would not kill it in front of me.

The sound of the trains was louder now and Tom was strangling the kitten.

"Is this what you want? You aren't helping me and you can't! This is who I am." Tom yelled. The train was so close now, I could see it from barely a hundred feet away.

All of a sudden, Stephen's wrestling the kitten out of Tom's hands and he looked very angry.

"I've been your friend for years and never have you been like this. Leave the kitten alone and stop being this way. I know you aren't Tom!" And by total accident, Stephen pushed Tom into the oncoming train. The boy died instantly and Stephen was in shock.

"Doctor! He just killed his friend! What are we gonna do?" I asked, panicking.

"I'm...I'm not sure." He said, holding Stephen close to him.

We decided to erase parts of his memory and send him home. Hours later, he learned that his friend had been hit by a train while playing at the abandoned railroad tracks.

"Will he be alright? Is the Wendigo gone now? Will he still be an author later?" I asked and the Doctor nodded.

"All of this needed to happen for him to become the author he becomes later. The Wendigo is pleased by his sacrifice and his books will be better than ever now." The Doctor said.

"And why is that? He just killed his best friend and you erased his memory!" I was furious.

"Yes, but it needed to happen. His books will be better because we showed him some empathy that he hadn't seen in years. You know, you may be a part of his first book."

We entered the TARDIS and I couldn't stop thinking about the young man from Maine we tried to help.

"Where to next, m'love?" The Doctor asked.
