The First Victim

No one's POV

          "Sorry, I'm late everyone! I was injured after, the Casita broke but luckily someone fostered me back to health." cheered Mirabel and the family nodded in agreement, Julieta pulled Mirabel into a hug. Mirabel flinched slightly, but quickly hugged Julieta back: Julieta being a mother of course noticed something suspicious and so did Bruno. Yet the two didn't say anything and just moved inside of the Casita.

         Mirabel rushed up towards a spare room and locked the door, she needed to talk to the spirit to know what to do next. "Mirabel your act isn't enough, you need to act like your old self!" the spirit whispered making sure no one in the family heard, but of course, someone heard and that was: Dolores. "Shh don't be so loud Casita, Dolores can hear anything from a mile away." Mirabel thought, knowing that Casita could read her mind.

       "Also, a friendly reminder: no one must know you have a gift now. It'll ruin our plan, Mirabel.." the spirit said whispering the thoughts inside of Mirabel's head so Dolores wouldn't hear. Mirabel nodded and went downstairs, her expression was emotionless. The casita stayed still when she went down the stairs, it would usually make a slide for Mirabel, but not today. She got food out of the cupboard and started eating, "I'm starving.." she thought. Dolores shortly came and sat beside Mirabel, she noticed her cousin's unnaturally emotionless expression. "Mirabel?" asked Dolores, waving her hands in front of Mirabel. Mirabel started at Dolores blankly and quickly changed her expression to a smile, "Sorry zoned out there!" Mirabel said cheerfully. Dolores didn't look satisfied and looked Mirabel in the eyes, "Is everything okay, Mira..?" Dolores asked. "Y-yeah, everything's fine! Don't worry about it Dolores.. I-" Mirabel stuttered, Dolores shot a suspecting look at Mirabel, the two shared an awkward silence. 

Mirabel's POV

    "Follow me." Dolores commanded, I followed her hesitantly. Did she know you? Was I in trouble? No, there's no possible way she knows.. Ugh Casita is going to be so disappointed with me! I need to find a solution out of this, wait.. what if I use my powers? Yeah that could work! How do I do that again.. Casita! "Mirabel the power is inside of you, you need to unleash the demon that resides inside of you." moaned Casita, Dolores looked at me strangely. Well I can't get out of this, I might as well play innocent til the time comes. 

       Dolores took me upstairs to the candle and to both of our surprise it glowed a strange dark purple when it was around me, Dolores shot a sad look at me. "Mirabel I didn't want to believe it.. please turn back to us-" but Dolores was cut off, by the strange power I had gotten. I had locked eyes with her and her pupils slowly dilated, her eye colour had gotten a purple tint to it as well. Guess my power was obvious whenever I controlled someone, I should use it wisely then.. I don't want too many people figuring it out. "Dolores, you must not tell anyone about this." I said shooting a cold glare at her.

"Do you understand?"

     I didn't even recognize my own voice, it was so cold and indifferent. I was slowly changing, maybe even for the better. "You can leave now." I said bitterly and she left having no recollection of what just happened. I felt bad for doing this, but I had to give this family a piece of their own medicine: I was doing the right thing after all just with a different view. I went upstairs to my room and went on top of my balcony, glancing at the sky. It was a beautiful view, I wish I could photograph this with something. Maybe I'll save up to buy a camera, even though I'm technically trying to destroy my family right now. One day, I'll be free without all of this.

Camilo's POV

     I might as well visit Bruno-no, no, no.. Sorry Tio Bruno I have the song stuck in my head! I walked up to the cabin my Tio resided in and knocked. "The secret code.." mumbled Bruno in a deep voice, I could technically break in right now. I sighed loud enough for him to hear and tapped the door 3 times: once on the top, once on the right, and once on the left. He let me in and I sat down, "Thought I might visit you.." I said, looking at Tio Bruno's horrible posture. "I was about to fetch you anyways Camilo.. I have news." Bruno whispered, Bruno went to the back of his cabin and entered a secret room.

5 minutes later..

    Bruno had entered the room with another vision board, but this one had dust on it. Bruno quickly brushed the dust off and they both looked at the vision board. "Why didn't you tell anyone in the family about this sooner?" said Camilo, "That's because it wasn't complete yet.." whispered Bruno. "How old is this?" asked Camilo examining the board, "As old as you, literally.. they told me to make a vision after you were born. This whole time I thought it had something to do with you." mumbled Bruno taking a closer look at the board as well.

      The two looked at the board: it was a figure without a face and the city collapsing with everyone having purple eyes. "Are we going to live through a zombie apocalypse, Tio?" asked Camilo sadly, Bruno could see the fear in his eyes. "I don't think so, well I hope not. It's weird how all of this is connecting after the Casita fell apart and Mirabel's outburst. This all has to be connected somehow" noted Bruno, he was hoping the figure and Mirabel weren't connected. The two sat in silence, "So are you hungry, kid?" Bruno asked cheerfully, Camilo's face lit up. The two went to Bruno's kitchen together and baked some delicious albondigas, "Yum!" cheered Camilo as they ate together. For the first time ever since Mirabel visited him, Bruno felt like he was with his family.

5 hours later...

      "Are you ready?" Bruno asked for the fifth time, Camilo nodded and they went to the edge of the mountains of Encanto. To figure out what Bruno's vision was, they needed to get out of town and the first step was: going over the mountain. They had to jump with no parachute or glider, this was life-threatening, but if they didn't: Encanto could be no more. They jumped off and they made it across, the town next to them was in wrecks. "Tio Bruno.."
