The Darkest Time (Sequel to Love is War)

Chapter 1

Astrid wakes up to the sun shining through her window. She sighs with a smile on her face. Another on Berk.

She gets up and gets changed into her winter clothes. It's winter on Berk and it is ever so cold.

She goes downstairs and gets something to eat. She walks out and feeds Stormfly.

"Hey Girl.Wanna go see Hiccup and Toothless?" She squawks in reply.

She smiles again and hops on. They fly to his house and she gets off and starts towards the door.

She knocks and listens to the uneven steps of her boyfriend.

Boyfriend.

She likes the sound of that.

The door opens and she sees Hiccup's mother.

"Morning Mrs. Haddock. Is Hiccup up yet?"

"No. Not that I know of. And please call me Valka." She says with a smile. She moves over and lets her in. She walks up the stairs towards his room. She puts her ear to the door and listens for his footsteps to see if he is getting up.

When she doesn't hear anything, she opens the door. But she doesn't see Hiccup obut she sees Toothless. She frowns. She was hoping to scare the crap out of him.

When Toothless sees her, he jumps up and starts licking her. Then he sees the empty bed. He walks over and sniffs it.

"Hey Toothless. Do you know where Hiccup is?" Even if he did, he can't speak. He grumbles and looks disappointed of not seeing his best friend.

"Here you start looking for him. I will help you look."

She walks back down the stairs.

"Is he up?" She looks at Valka. She shakes her head.

"I think he is in town already."

"Okay. If I find him, I'll tell him you were looking for him." Astrid nods her head and walks back out.

She looks around town but sees no sign of him. Whenever she would run into one of the teens, she would ask if they had seen him or Toothless. Because if you find Toothless, you find Hiccup. And she wanted to spend time with him before he works himelf so hard, he falls asleep in the Mead Hall.

But when she ran into Ruffnut chasing Tuffnut, Tuffnut teased her but he got a face full of fist. He just cheered and asked Ruffnut to punch him. She gladly did so.

At lunch, she still can't find either companions. She gets all grumpy when she goes to the Mead Hall.

The other teens look at her funny but she glares back at them.

She leaves soon after. She checks the cove, his father's statue, his house -again-, Itchy Armpit, everywhere he could be.

At dinner, she is yet again in the Mead Hall but her mood has went down greatly.

Fishlegs comes running up to her, panting, looking terrified.

"Astrid! You need to read this. You won't believe this!" She gaps the piece of parchment from Fishlegs. The other teens crowd around her.

She reads aloud:

To: anyone who finds this...

I have taken your chief. If you want him back, you need to bring me the Night Fury in a week. Or else you will never see your chief.

I am peed off.

My friend did a newspaper presentation today about the same gender getting married.

And in some states its illegal.

Sorta...

But what really ticked me off was that so many people judge them for who they like.

And yea I know that people do judge them but really?

Is it that big of a deal!?
