Juno, although slightly weirded out about the instagram comment, was excited for the next day. She was excited to meet a guy who liked her and her alone.
Two weeks before Claire's wedding they had finally cut off their family, the breaking point was that Juno was not compromising on planning her cousins weddings.
Emily Talisman was recently engaged and wanting an extravagant wedding, yet Juno had a no planning for family rule. She didn't want to be to blame if something went wrong or there was some sort of fight which would eventually resort in her being isolated from the family. Now Juno did isolate herself after this argument but that was their own choice, not her family's doing because of a mistake.
Emily was just as bad as Junos own sister, spoiled and rude. Emily got everything she wanted and if there was someone in the way of that then there would be consequences. Juno wanted nothing to do with this wedding.
When she told her family this they flipped, now they had to pay someone to plan? Outrageous! Which only cemented for Juno that they would under no circumstances be doing this wedding, they didn't even plan to pay her!
For Juno this was just too much, especially with her whole family siding with Emily, expressing that Juno should just do it. Juno was quick to block her families numbers and leave it at that. They wouldn't deal with the mistreatment and messages of harassment anymore.
This made Juno hopeful though, hopeful for a relationship that didn't involve her SO ditching her for her sister. Hopeful that there would be no more messages and calls making Juno the scapegoat and the villain in every story. Finally Juno felt like they could be something for themselves, without the weight of their family. The whole experience was quite freeing.
And so Juno was excited to see Clay.
