Something to believe in ~*~ Lucas Piazon One Shot

"Really?" Fernando said pulling away from Lucas and ran towards me. "Mum, are we really going to Brazil?" I had to smile. I had never seen my son this happy. I didn't think this news would make him this happy.

I looked at Lucas who was closing the door as always Lucas opens his mouth at the wrong moments. "Yes, Nand we are going." He hugged me and I tried my best not to cry. I let him go and grabbed his hand.

"Ouch." he said and I froze in place. I looked at my little boy and he started to cry. I was completely lost. I hated whenever he spent time with his father.

"Fernando, what happened?" I said with a stern voice and he continued crying which made me realize Harry must have told him not to tell me. I didn't realize I was still holding his hand.

"Madison, let go." Lucas whispered in my ear. I let go of his hand and Lucas started checking it. I was still frozen by the whole situation. It looked a bit bruised but I could see in my son's face that it hurt. I pushed Fernando's tears away and Lucas moved his hand to check the wrist. "Does this hurt?" Fernando made a face and I turned to Lucas.

"Is it bad?" I said looking at Lucas.

"I'm no doctor, but I think we should go to the emergency room." I grabbed Fernando, helped him put on his coat and we headed out.

On our ride to the hospital Fernando was a bit more relaxed and I decided to ask him what happened. I was sitting in the back seat next to him caressing his blonde hair. "Sweetie, what happened?" I asked and he let go of my hand and rubbed his eye.

"I just fell mummie," He said and it really bothered me how much Fernando protected his father, well it is his father. I gave him the look and he knew he had to tell me. “Daddy and I were playing and I tripped and fell down the stairs.” He started to cry again. “I’m so sorry for being so clumsy.” His words made cry. I knew there had to be something else to this whole story because how could he have fallen down the stairs if they were playing. I tried my best to not think about it too much because I knew Fernando wanted to keep seeing his father.

“It’s not your fault, honey.” I didn’t want to ask when it happened and if Harry even took him to the emergency room. I just wanted to boy to be okay.

We arrived at the emergency room and they quickly check if it was fractured and it was. They also wanted to do a lot of test just to make sure that when Fernando fell down the stairs he didn’t hurt any other part of his body. I was glad Lucas was here with me. I needed support and to be strong. The doctor arrived to put a cast on Fernando’s arm and like always when people see Lucas they smile. I still wasn’t used to the way people look at Lucas.

“Fernando, right?” The doctor said and Fernando nodded. I could see in Fernando’s face that he was really scared of what was going to happen. “I am Doctor Fletcher, let me see that arm of yours.” He look at the arm and then back at Fernando. “I promise this won’t hurt at all,” The doctor started preparing everything and Fernando just looked even more scared as he saw all the equipment.

“Mum!” He said reaching out his free hand for me. I walked over to him and sat next to him while I held his free hand.

“What color would you like?” The Doctor asked with a warm smile. Fernando looked over at Lucas who was standing by the wall and then back at the doctor.

“Blue!” Fernando said a bit loud.

“Blue it is,” Doctor Fletcher said with a smirk and started doing his job. There was a bit of small talk between him and Lucas. After he was done he asked for an autograph and a picture. He even asked if Fernando was Lucas’ son. I was carrying Fernando who was fast asleep.

“People love you.” I said as we walked out of the emergency room. I loved pocking fun at Lucas about people loving him and always coming up to him and asking for pictures and autographs.

“I am a lovable guy.” Lucas said with a smile as he played with the keys to my car. “Want to grab something to eat before we get home?” He really did believe he lived there. It was a bit annoying because I wasn’t ready for it become our home.

“Before you take me home?” I said correcting him. “and sure,” I reached out my hand to hold his “How about some pizza?”

“Sure,” He said and opened the car door for me. I put Fernando on his car seat and I sat in the front next to Lucas. Lucas drove to my favorite pizza places and ordered some to go.

We arrived at my flat a bit late. Fernando was still fast asleep in my arms and I had to wake him up so he could get some dinner. He fought with me but when I told him it was pizza he woke up. We sat in the kitchen table in silence until Fernando spoke.

“Mom, when are we going to Brazil?” Fernando asked between bites. It was hard for him to eat.

“We are leaving on Monday.” I said looking over at Lucas. “You know next week is the international break and Lucas got called up to play with Brazil and he wants us to go.” Fernando smiled. Lucas loved Fernando as his own kid in just a couple of months.

“It’s the game against Argentina.” Fernando said really excited because he was the hugest Messi fan.

“Yes, it is.” Lucas said. “I can’t take you to train with Argentina, but can come with me to the Brazil one… if you want.” Fernando’s eyes shined.

“I’ll have to be careful with this.” Fernando said pointing to the cast on his arm.

“You have to promise me one thing kiddo.” Lucas said messing up Fernando’s hair. “You have to root for Brazil not Argentina.”

           “No way.” Fernando said grinning.

“You will.” Lucas said acting like a little kid.

“I won’t,” Fernando said sticking out his tongue like a little kid.
