You woke up, shivering. Fuck this cabin was as cold as ice. It was freezing at night at this place. Even with your light blanket you had yourself covered with, you couldn't hide from the cold.
Groaning, you sat yourself up and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes. It was time to continue your trip. You were almost at the end of it though, considering you were almost at the boarder of Wyoming. Putting on your beige tank top and brown flannel with jeans you made your way out - grabbing your backpack of course.
The fresh early spring air greeted you as soon you were out the door. Pine trees were surrounding the wooden house and it seemed really calm here for an apocalyptic world.
You took one last look at the cabin you had camped in and continued your journey.
After 10 hours of travelling you were exhausted.
You crossed so many places in this day, overgrewn woodland, empty cities and free land. You had seen it all.You couldn't stop walking though, you wanted to arrive in Jackson as soon as possible. Maybe a few more miles and you would be at the location. Thinking about what could await for you in Jackson made you exited. Starting your life all over again. maybe that's what you needed. New Beginnings. Distractions from your past.
You entered a pharmacy, ready to be face to face with the undead creatures but it was quiet in here- way too quiet. The wooden floor was creaking, showing its age, you had to be careful so you wouldn't break it in with your weight.
You looted the place, receiving plenty of antibiotics and rubbing alcohol, definitely would need these for disinfecting wounds and other stuff.
You walked around one tile covered corner of the -what used to be a pharmacy, wanting to discover and pack more of the health utilities when two hands grabbed your shoulders and pushed you against the stone hard wall. Fuck i saw this coming. It's always the pharmacies.
You hissed in pain when you felt the claws of the stalker pushing into your skin, when it's hands tried to grabble at you. Trying to push it further away from you, so you could pull out your pocket knife out of your jeans, you struggled. That thing really had a grip on you.
You raised your leg and kicked the stalker as hard as possible. It stumbled back and was ready to make its way back to you, only to be stopped by the sharp cling of your knife entering its throat.
Stabbing its neck once again, you pulled the weapon out and looked around for other nearby infected. You noticed the blood from the infected on your cheek in a reflection and wiped it away with the palm of your shaky hand. Looking at the velvet colored blood in your palm, a knot began to form in your stomach. Your stomach was turning at the bad memories it gave you and you came back from zoning out.
"Fuck this place", you mumbled and made your way out of the building. No other infected in sight.
At least you thought so. Turning your head to the outer side of the building, you saw at least more than ten infected. Another horde. Your eyes widened and you tried to lower the volume of your moving. You grabbed your gun, just incase and began running. Still being careful about the sounds of your quickening steps. You were moving so quickly, your vision was slightly blurring and making the abandoned neighborhood here seem like it was spinning. It was like a dream you once had, but could you ever confuse a dream with real life ?
