You know that moment
When the fear is creeping
Your knees are shaking
Your heart is aching
And your pride is fading
But the thing that makes you feel this way
Coincides with the feeling you hide inside
Now you want to break free
Because you're done feeling queasy
Yeah, I'm talking about that moment
You know that moment
When you get that feeling
That your skin is peeling
When you're the new person in the group
And your blood starts to feel like boiling soup
You're scared to look around
So your eyes don't meet with the people around
Then you get that chance to talk and
Your muscles tense up, feel stiff as chalk
But then they smile and respond pleasantly
Now you're comfortable being yourself
Because they helped put those shy feelings on a shelf
Yeah, even that moment
You know that moment
When you feel like a social sacrifice
When some people eyes feel like a piercing knife
Then you're the topic of the discussion
Makes your head feel like you just received a concussion
But they know what it feels like to be new
They begin to ease the pain away
And you start to find a way
To open your mouth and speak your words
You know that moment
Yeah, that moment
