It tears you down
When you're left all alone
When there's no one there to hear you groan
Feel your pain, enjoy your gain
It tears you down
When the world is moving forward
And you're moving backward
And it feels like you're getting left behind
Because you wasted so much time
It tears you down
When they call you everything but a child of God
They find every reason to call you a fraud
When your name feels like a curse
And your heart needs a nurse
It tears you down
When they use you and throw you away
When they're only there when they need something
And not the other way around
They use to be there but now they're not
It tears you down
