so i hope to make this story as interesting as possible and a lot of y/n and charles moments in this book;)
y/t=your town and y/c=your country
i guess this story is slowburn-ish, i don't really know yet but who knows. i like slow burn stories to an extend lmao.
if you like this story vote and comment:) you don't have to, but i would really appreciate it.
after breakfast, you were about to go and read again when danny said, "sorry for teasing you, y/n." "it's fine, i mean i deserve it, you chuckled. "always did it to you, danny." he laughed as well.
you and your brother have always been close, but of course both of you teased each other like every brother and sister did. you still loved him, and he still loved you, he was also protective of you.
"it's fine, but uh, y/n? danny asked. you turned around. "hm?" "i get a bad vibe from charles, danny admits. you sighed, rolling your eyes. "i promise he's not bad. look, you've said this to every boy i've liked."
danny crossed his arms. "mhm, and weren't they all assholes?" you chuckled. "language, danny. and yes, you're right but still, we're only friends." danny smirked but nodded, letting you go back to your room.
you wondered why danny even was hinting at you and charles being more than friends, you barely knew him for god's sake, but it must've been brotherly instincts, you understood. you sat in your room, writing the final paragraph of your letter to rose when charles came in.
"hey, he says cheerfully. you grinned."hey, what's up?" "i kind of wanted to get to know you better, he admits, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. you giggled. "okay." he sat on the bed beside you.
"where are you from? he asks you. "me and my brother come from y/t, y/c, you respond. "and you?" "i was born here, charles responds casually. "cool, i wanted to explore this town but i might get lost, you joked.
"i can show you, i've been here for quite some time and this city of course."
you smiled, already feeling comfortable around him. "i'd like that, honestly." you noticed that he was blushing, unusual, but the room could've just been warm.
"charles!"
"i've got to go, cya y/n!"
you smile and wave goodbye to him, you did feel comfortable around him already, he was very sweet, so why would danny get a bad vibe from him? you told yourself he was just being an overprotective brother, as usual.
this summer was already starting off great, you thought, placing the letter on your nightstand. it was still day out, so what could you do today? something to keep your mind busy. you were a creative person, it wouldn't be too hard to not get bored, right?
"y/n, you got a phone call."
"coming, aunt janie."
turns out it was rose, and you told her everything was going well so far, which was true. you didn't tell her about meeting charles, though, she might think you liked him more than a friend. rose tended to tease you about that.
but, honestly, it would be funny to see her call him your boyfriend. "gotta go, rose said." bye y/n." "bye, you respond, the phone call ending. you sighed."i wish they would improve the stupid phone system."
aunt janie chuckled. "me too, Y/N. me too." she was a very kind woman, you always liked her. but you wondered if she still was mourning over your father, her brother. you hoped that she would be happy, but had every right to mourn.
timeskip[idk why]
it was pretty dark out now, and you were tired, the day was interesting, spending your day by playing with the younger boys, they all had big imaginations, which was a good thing. you yawned, changing into pajamas and getting into bed.
you felt like someone was watching you, but you brushed it off as you opened up your favorite book and began reading. you loved to read, rose would often tease you about being a bookworm, but you didn't mind at all.
in fact, you were proud of it.
it was something your father liked to do as well, and you spent a lot of time with him reading. that was of course before he died, reading sometimes reminded you of him, but eventually you had to move on, you told yourself that.
your mother did, or at least you thought so, she never looked sad or gloomy anymore, you wondered why. it probably was because she moved on. but a part of you refused. danny was on the same page as you, didn't move on.
how could you? you grew up with him and he was there for you, always. "goodnight y/n, aunt janie said. "goodnight, you smiled, she closed your door. it was a cold night tonight, so you had your window open.
you wondered what your mother was doing right now, missing you and your brother, maybe. you got tired really fast. you turned your light off and put the book on the nightstand, you brought a lot with you.

when morning arrived, you realized you were the first one up. which was simply out of habit, you normally got up early for school and when your mother was gone. she worked really hard for you and danny.
"y/n, you're up early, janie chuckled. "usually am, you laughed. "how are you, aunt janie?" she gave you a big smile."good, you seem to be upbeat today. i see you and charles are getting along, he's a good influence on you."
"maybe, you winked jokingly. "i would like to get to know him a bit better, he seems to be mysterious honestly. janie crossed her arms. "he is a bit secretive, but a softie, i know that. all you have to do is warm up to him."
you bit your lower lip, and she waved before closing your door, and thought of him invaded your mind quickly.
