ik this is too early on, but would you guys like a good ending or bad ending? i did both for metanoia but definitely want an opinion for this story.
i do wanna see where this story goes but also dont want to make a cliffhanger ending, lets be real those can be annoying, but i also want the readers(you guys) to imagine what happens next so I'm kind of torn.
why were you thinking about him? he was only a friend to be honest. or more like an acquaintance since you didn't know him too well, and it looked like he didn't have much friends. "good morning y/n, charles greeted you.
"good morning to you too, charles, you responded kindly. you were always a kind person, even if you hated someone so much, you wouldn't act like it. "so today, your aunt is letting me show you around hackensack, charles responded.
you smiled. "that actually sounds so fun!" he smiled. "there is a lot of cool things in this town, so you might end up wanting to move here in the end." he winked at you, making you chuckle. charles seemed to know exactly what to say, it was calming honestly.
"what's going on? danny asked, coming down the stairs. you hoped your brother wouldn't go protective on you, seeing as he got a "bad vibe" from charles. he pulled you aside and said,"y/n, i don't trust him. he seems strange."
you sighed, knowing danny was completely wrong, charles was the total opposite of strange, or at least what you could assume. "don't be silly, you whispered. "he's just showing me around hackensack, that's all. don't worry about me, danny. i'm okay."
"okay, i just want you to be happy, danny responded. you smile then walk back to charles. still, your big brother didn't really trust charles, but what could he do? you were stubborn, like your mother.
"danny, i get it, your sister is talking to someone, but maybe you should trust her, janie suggested. danny nodded, crossing his arms. "i'll try." you walked out to get to see hackensack, it was pretty cool.
you learned some things you didn't know before, and now you wouldn't get lost if you ever did go into town. and you got to know charles better, and he got to know you better. you felt pretty comfortable with charles.
you were shocked on how chill charles was, and sweet too. he was charming for sure, but you didn't know if it was a good thing or bad thing. as soon as you got back, your smile was even bigger.
"we should hang out like that again, charles smiled. "yeah, you softly respond. danny eyed you suspiciously, crossing his arms sternly. "oh please, you sighed. "he's just a friend, i know what you're thinking, danny."
"or you're just in denial, danny joked. you chuckle, rolling your eyes. your brother did have a sense of humor that you enjoyed but still, it was quite ironic. "funny, i don't tease you about your female friends being your crushes, you scoff jokingly.
"well y/n, i don't flirt with my friends, that's why."
you chuckled, playing with danny's curly hair, he hovered over you by a lot, sometimes you wondered when you were getting your growth spurt. "sometimes, you do danny. just don't wanna admit it, huh?"
danny rolled his eyes. "as a joke, n/n. half of them have boyfriends or girlfriends already, dingus." you smirk at him, before he playfully hits your arm."i'm serious! we all do it to each other, left's be real, none of them are my type anyways."
you knew he was joking, you just liked messing with him, like a typical sister. "i know, you doofus, you joked. "but come on, you probably do have a crush." he shrugged. "no, not since me and ella broke up, you know?"
"i understand."
you glanced over to see eddie, the most troubled arguing with another boy. "eddie! you said. "what is going on?" "eddie started it, the boy huffed, crossing his arms. you knew that this was concerning, if he did start it.
eddie held a pocket knife and you took it away from him. "eddie, you know janie doesn't allow that stuff here, you told him. eddie shrugged. "it's not mine, and anyways he was pissing me off." "well, i will tell her about this, you scoff, walking upstairs to your room.
you wanted to make sure everything was good here, especially if new boys would show up sometime soon. janie did mention newcomers would arrive soon, you liked that she was helping others.
"y/n, what do you have there? she asks. you sighed. "eddie was about to attack another boy with it, figured you could confiscate it." she nodded, taking the knife from you. "this isn't the first time. i just hope he actually doesn't kill anyone. who influenced him to do this? we will never know."
"yeah, it has to be some boy here, you chuckled and so did your aunt. you did like making jokes, it came naturally to you, maybe because your brother had corny ones and you wanted better jokes than him.
you went back downstairs and saw the janitor in the hallway, he always gave you a bad vibe, at least for the time you were here so far. "what are you looking at? he asked coldly. you scoff and walk way.
what was his problem?
"you okay? charles asks. "yeah, that janitor is an jerk though, you chuckled. "yeah, he treated me that way when i first got here, charles replies. "it might be due to his alcoholism, sometimes he comes back from breaks very drunk."
"oh, does janie know?"
charles shook his head. "she thinks he is just crazy in general, good at cleaning but still, should be fired." he seemed so mature for his age, and you liked that, he seemed to be so soft, and honest.
"hey, do you know why eddie was about to stab that boy earlier?"
"no, i have no clue."
