"I'm gonna like her," Bucky smirked as he glanced up at his friend before he reached out and snatched my other half, quickly sending me a wink as he did.
"Hm," I chuckled, glancing between Bucky and Steve with a million butterflies fluttering around in my stomach.
I'm in a super soldier sandwich.
"We don't have to train," Steve said with a shrug. "I mean, Ro just got here." He turned his gaze on me and smiled a little. "I can postpone training until you're settled, if you'd like."
"Unless you're gung-ho about training," Bucky flirted with a small smirk. He doesn't seem like the big-smile type. Very mysterious... and definitely dangerous.
I took in a deep breath, readying to respond but was speechless – mainly due to the fact that I'm surrounded by two gorgeous men that I also wouldn't mind boning.
My eyebrows raised a little, trying to hide my expressions triggered by gutter brain.
"Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. We can do... whatever you want."
Jesus, just drop your drawers right here Romani. Might as well.
"Hm," Bucky's deep voice rumbled in his chest, his hands went to settle on his hips as he glanced over at Steve. "Might as well gauge her powers?"
"We won't rough you up too much," Steve smiled.
Oh, please do.
He reached for the plate still in my hands, honestly I had forgotten about it until he plucked it away and walked off to the sink, leaving me with Bucky, who couldn't seem to stop staring. And apparently, I'm not the only one that noticed.
"He has a staring problem, just flick'em between the eyes," Sam, whose eyes hadn't come up from his phone, murmured. I glanced over, my eyebrows furrowed. How had he seen Bucky staring?
"Shut up, birdbrain," Bucky grumbled as he took a step back, waving for me to follow him. I followed without hesitance. Maybe I could show out, impress the two men. Or maybe they prefer damsels?
Oh hell. Stop it, Romani. Your here to help the team, not fuck'em.
"I figured you would find the gym," I heard Natasha's smart mouth before I saw her, again- pulling me from my thoughts because apparently I'm oblivious to everything around me, not a good feature. "But, I thought you'd turn right back around and run away."
"I don't exert myself," I explain to the two Gods of muscles on each side of myself, cheeks reddening at Natasha's comment. Yeah, I have hips and thighs, a couple rolls and some tig ol bitties but- I can see my toes. Fuck running. It's for the weak. "Shut it, Red."
"Oh," Steve was taken back, no one ever bantered with Natasha. She scared everyone with her expressions and normally, she didn't play around too much but with me- I'd have her joking around like a teenager before too long.
"Make me, whatever color hair that is," Natasha shot back, I gasped as I reached up and grasped a hold of my fading lilac dye job.
"Bitch," I respond, sassily before I lift my hand and send her flying in the air. She was suspended about ten feet off the ground, giggling as I used my telekinesis to tickle her sides. "Take it back!"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," she yelled out between gasps, I chuckled lowly, ignoring the obviously dumbstruck looks on Steve and Bucky's face. I sat Natasha down on the ground gently and crossed my arms over my chest. Her expression could make a weaker person cower. "You know I hate that."
"It's why I do it," I explain like it's the most obvious thing in the world. We stand there in silence for a moment, both of us with our arms crossed and glares on our faces.
Bitch, go away for a minute. Read my mind!
Ugh. I'll never see these two shirtless.
"Okay," Steve calls out lowly, stepping between me and Natasha with his hands out. "Let's just calm down-"
"We're not fighting," Natasha explained, her eyes never leaving mine. Her expression never falls. "It's a staring contest. Whoever loses gets to punch the other."
"When you're stuck underground for a week, you come up with games to keep your mind off starving," I finish as we continue our stare down. Until my eyes started watering and I blinked without realizing it. "Damn it, every time."
"How do you girls know each other?" Bucky asked softly, he had been watching silently behind me.
"I was sent to kill her, she was sent to kill me, we kinda bonded after she accidentally brought a building down on us," Nat smirked after a moment, stalking over and punching me hard in the bicep.
"Ow, fuck," I grumbled as I rubbed the spot, my face contorting with pain. "Once we got past the pleasantries, ya know, trying to kill each other. We became friends and then I saved her life when her skinny little ass tried to climb out from beneath the rubble and got stuck."
"I would have been pancaked, Romani used every bit of energy she had left to lift the debri and let me out. She was stuck for another day while I got help," Natasha smiled sadly at me. "She could have let me die, finished her assignment. But she didn't."
"You grew on me like mold, I guess," I shrugged, my heart strings pulling a bit.
Girl stop it, I'm supposed to be a badass.
Steve smiled and looked over at me and nodded a little. "That's great," he said softly before patting me on the back a little – I noticed he patted me gently. His hands feel so nice.
Girl, shut up – you didn't feel anything through all them clothes you wearin' and his gloves.
You're probably right.
"Can we go?" Bucky asked nonchalantly, shifting his weight from one side to the other. "I need to see more of that," he told me before giving me another wink.
Oh, damn. Stop that, TinMan.
"Can I practice on Natasha?" I tease, she just rolled her eyes and waved me off before walking over to the rows of treadmills. "Guess not."
"You can go against me," Steve volunteered, stepping ahead of me to head towards the soft padded gymnastic mat in the center of the large room. I raise my brows.
