Chapter 16

"Oh! Taehyung....sup?" I awkwardly asked him.

His jaw clenched, his fist tightened. That's it. No one can resist an angry Taehyung.

"What are you doing here Mr. Jeon?" he clearly seems annoyed.

"You still do remember me. Impressive," Jungkook replied, slightly smirking. He came towards me and put his hands on my shoulder while the anger on Taehyung's eyes increased.

"I would like to have a small talk with you Jungkook," Taehyung said and went upstairs. Afterwards Jungkook winked at me and went upstairs.

What the actual fuck?!

Why would he wink in such a situation?! Is he out of his mind right now?! And how the hell can both of them just go upstairs of my house without asking me first??!

Jungkook's P.O.V

"Why did you come again after doing all this?" Taehyung said as soon as I entered the room.

"And what exactly do you mean by 'doing all this'?" I said closing the door.

"Why do you still think Y/N is going to be yours? She never did and never will love you, so just move on with your life," I continued and sat down on the bed waiting for him to reply.

"Yes. She was never mine and I don't think she will ever be mine. But...I just...I just want to protect her...at all cost," He said and for the first time I pitied him. I felt he was being genuine while saying these words.

But no.

I can't trust him this easily. Y/N has gone through a lot. What if Taehyung leaves her? What if she is heartbroken again? I mean, killing her parents was just too much for her to take. I don't want to risk it.

"You don't need to protect her, I'm there for her. But if you still want to protect her, just go away from her life—" I got interrupted.

"Which I can't really do. I've got no other person whom I can trust other than her and Jin hyung. So do what you can. You can never take her away from me," he said and rushed outside.

What if this person actually loves her?

What if he can make her happy better than me?

Trust is not something one can easily gain. He has to work hard to make me believe him.

Y/N's P.O.V

I saw Taehyung coming downstairs. I hope he didn't break Jungkook's bones 'cause I can't raise a broken bunny.

"Ummm...everything okay?" I nervously laughed.

"Yes," he coldly answered and was about to go when he stopped.

"Hey," we both said at the same time.

"Jinx!" we both again exclaimed at the same time.

"Jinx," I giggled after winning. I saw him smiling with a box in his hand. This 'cold boss' of mine is all grown up but still plays Jinx.

"Take this. You left it in my home," He told the 'my home' part so loudly that even the neighbours could hear it.

I heard a chuckling sound from behind. It was Jungkook.

"You've got such an immature friend Y/N," he said and went towards the guest room leaving me all confused.

"And you take this," I handed him his jacket. He waved me a 'bye' and went outside.

I held my hand at the door and looked at him get inside his car and drive off.

How did Taehyung recognize Jungkook? Have they met?

Jungkook P.O.V

I went inside the guest room.

Neat

I sat on the bed and rolled over.

Very comfortable

I looked outside the window.

Nice view

I then finally looked out the door. I could see Y/N climb up the stars and get inside her room.

Perfect!

I lay on the bed. Taehyung has a crush on Y/N, right? It's too obvious to even doubt it. He hasn't changed since elementary school. He is the same nerd always hiding behind Jimin hyung and never had the courage to actually confess. How did I know that he was crushing her? Well, Jimin hyung, Y/N and I have been best friends since childhood. In middle school, we were even named as 'the badass trio'. Jimin hyung used to be loyal to Taehyung, but after he left, he let me know some secrets.

Well, even though Taehyung was a nerd, I can't really blame him, 'cause it's not like I was a good kid.

FLASHBACK

Y/N got out of class. She started walking towards the lockers.

It's the perfect time to trigger her

"Sooo~ what's up?" I smirked as I went to Y/N.

"Shut up and get out of my face," she snapped.

"Did your brother teach you that?" I smiled evilly at her. She rolled her eyes and reached her locker.

"Or...did your parents teach you such bad manners?" I looked at her expression. Her face was about to explode. I knew that mentioning her parents was the only way to anger her. She still faced her locker and took out some books.

"Yah! Your parents are so terrible at raising kids," I acted innocent, "Didn't they teach you to interact with friends?" I slammed her locker shut.

"If you speak another word I'll—"

"Do what? Cry to your parents who won't even support you?" I sang at her face. At that point she grabbed my collar and slammed me to the locker.

"I don't need to cry. Maybe you will!" she yelled at my face and punched me to the ground. I put my hand on the side of my lip which was bleeding. She pulled me back up by pulling my tie, and kicked me. I ended up at the middle of the hall.

She punched my arm, kicked my leg, and would have done what-not if Jimin hyung hadn't come to stop her. I barely stood up on my feet and ran away. I heard hyung tell her, "Y/N, are you out of your mind?! Why would you hit someone so badly? You will be in a very big mess!"

(A/n: Reminds something? This situation?)

She replied, "Stop shouting at me and ask that fellow why was he cursing my parents?! He deserved that!"

That's when I learned never to mess with Y/N again. Things can and have turned bad.

END OF FLASHBACK

I'm not that boy anymore. I've...changed.
