The day came for the prince and princess of Ichesta to arrive. Nathaniel dressed for the day in one of his best outfits. The king, queen, Nathaniel, several servants, and guards stood outside as the royal carriage rolled to a stop in front of the palace. Nathaniel kept his eyes forward as he waited for the prince and princess to get out of the carriage. A servant got down from the carriage and opened the door. First out of the carriage was a guard, which Nathaniel understood, then next was the prince. The prince of Ichesta was a striking figure with black hair, cut short like Nathaniel's. He wore the colors of Ichesta in the outfit that he wore, which were red and gold. Nathaniel himself did the same, wearing blue and white. Nathaniel kept his face impassive, though deep in his heart there was a spark when he saw the prince. That could never be, though. He was the prince. The prince turned once he had gotten down from the carriage and got the princess down from the carriage. She had long brown hair. She wore a green dress. The two of them walked toward the royal family of Auraya. Finally, it was time. Once they were in front of the royal family the prince bowed and the princess curtsied. The prince spoke, "We were pleased to receive your invitation. My sister could hardly wait to come."
They stood and Nathaniel bowed, "We are most pleased to welcome you here."
He stood. The princess had a little smile on her face. The prince spoke again. "I am Prince Christopher of the house Ichesta and this is my sister Princess Samantha," he said first pointing to himself then at his sister.
Nathaniel took Samantha's hand and placed a light kiss on it, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, my lady. I am Prince Nathaniel of the house Auraya."
Samantha giggled and her face turned red as Nathaniel let her hand go. The king said, "Let us get you in and settled. We will see you later this evening at dinner. You are welcome to go anywhere on the grounds that you please during your stay."
Christopher bowed, "Thank you, your Majesty. That is most kind of you."
Servants began to lead them away to their rooms for their stay. Both the king and queen were all smiles as they went back inside. Nathaniel let out a huge sigh. He had an hour or so before he needed to be with them again. He slowly walked down to where Elizabeth was buried. It was a quiet place, under a large tree. It was the only place that Nathaniel felt like he could be himself... with his sister. He sat down in front of the grave, tracing the letters on it. He dropped his normal lower speech. "Oh, Nathan! This should be you. I miss you so much. You would probably do this prince thing so much better than me," he smiled softly. "Sometimes I wonder who I would be if I were still Elizabeth. Father was adamant, though. I understood... I understand. This has to be the way. Oh... if only you were here to tell me what to do."
Nathaniel got up and rubbed the headstone once more before heading back to the palace. He had no idea that someone had followed him and had been spying on him.
Oh no! That's not good. Who do think followed Nathaniel? How much do you think that the person heard? What do you think that person will do with the information? Please like and comment!
