Out of all of the races that Silva created, the humans were by far the dominant species. The only kingdoms that remained untouched by their influence were the Sky Kingdom and the Underworld, both due to lack of accessibility. The humans had a special characteristic, however, that didn't necessarily affect any of their own, or even the other kingdoms. Their belief in something gave that thing power. And in the beginning, humans needed something to believe in. They had an inert need to do so, characteristic of fear of the unknown. They wanted to explain things that they did not understand, and used stories to do so. One of the most widespread stories that was in circulation was one that told of a god among the stars.

The legend goes that each and every star in the sky was but a piece of a divine serpent of unimaginable, perhaps incomprehensible, size. It could not be imagined by a single being, and thus each and every human who believes looks to the stars each night, to imagine all of the stars connected together in a pattern which gave rise to the serpent- and in the large numbers that the humans believed in, their collective faith birthed the true god of the cosmos- Astrum Deus, they called it, star god. It spent its days soaring through the stars, empowered by the belief of humans.

Even stronger than simple stories, are physical things that can be seen, touched, and worshiped. The five elementals Silva created to protect the world were the perfect candidates for humans to worship. Although they had much less of a following than Astrum Deus, the fact that the humans were able to see the elementals and witness their power, their faith empowered the elementals just the same.

The Harpies worshiped the Cloud Elemental, The Merfolk worshiped the Water Elemental, who they named Anahita, The Dwarves worshiped the Earth Elemental and gifted her armor, The Demons worshiped the Brimstone Elemental, and small tribes of humans worshiped the Sand Elemental.

Each of these kingdoms lived in harmony, and Silva felt all of the positive emotions flowing out of her people. Even the Slime God found a purpose, as a small clan formed to worship the slimy deity, calling themselves the Statigel Clan.

It was then that Xeroc awoke from his rest, and he was very pleased with what he saw. A world, prospering on its own, unaware of the Light God above. Everything seems right.
