Nonpareil

Nonpareil

you used to be completely different

you were part of a tree

your growth was everlasting

but you grew thinner as you spread yourself out

now you've gone so far that you've become part of the stars

you seen everything around you through your own light

your sky is closer to me than the ground

you keep me warm and playfully blow the breeze through my hair

the allure of your voice seems unrealistic

although some people see you as a small piece of the sky.

you held no resemblance to a small ball of fire

you are much greater than the essence of light

through the soft dewy grass all the way to the crepuscular rays

your uniqueness is nonpareil.

This is an older poem that I though I should include, so sorry if it's not as good as my recent stuff.
