"Hey Mirabel, why don't you stay for lunch?" I suggested as we reached my front door.

"Oh... no I shouldn't I don't wanna intrude-"

"No, please, if anything my mom and I would love the company." I smiled kindly in hopes she would stay.

"Sure, why not!"

Y/n's pov:

"Mama!!" I called for my mom as I entered my home. "I'm back, and I brought a friend!"

I put down my things on the kitchen counter and went to hug my mother.

"Welcome back, lunch is already on the table. Who did you bring?" my mom said, as she turned to spot our guest.

Mirabel waves shyly at my mom and my mom smiled in return. "Thank you for joining us."

Lunch was kinda boring, as it was mostly just Mirabel telling my mother about her family's gifts. I did enjoy the company though.

"Anyways, I should probably head back to Casita... to help my Abuela for tonight. Thank you so much for lunch!" Mirabel said as she stood and pushed in her chair.

"Can I come with you?" I suddenly asked as I picked up our plates and placed them in the sink.

"Are you sure? Decorating can get kind of boring.."

I shrugged. "I don't mind."

"If you don't mind, then of course!" Mirabel said excitedly. I glanced at my mom for permission and she slightly nodded. I smiled and grabbed my bag. I said my goodbyes to my mom and walked out with Mirabel.

"Your mom is really nice!" Mirabel said as we began walking towards her casita. I chuckled. It's true, my mom is always nice but very strict when it came to relationships. Not that I've ever even been in a relationship. Hell, I haven't even had my first kiss yet.

When Mirabel and I arrived at her Casita, we were greeted by many friendly faces. Lots of people from town came up to help for the gift ceremony. Mirabel kept accidentally bumping into people and constantly was apologizing.

"You know, you don't have to apologize so much all the time..." I said, following her.

Mirabel shrugged. After helping put up countless decorations with Mirabel, night fell and guests started arriving.

"Where's Antonio?" Mirabel heard Antonio was missing and had to excuse herself. "I think I know where he could be... excuse me y/n."

I kinda just stood there awkwardly as I waited for Mirabel to return.

"You aren't new in town." I heard a soft voice say behind me. This wasn't a question, it was a certain fact. I turned to see who it was.

"Yea... I've lived here for as long as I can remember." I said. "I'm y/n." I said, holding a soft smile.

"Dolores." Said the soft voice, a smile creeping onto her face. "Are you a friend of Mirabel's?"

"I guess you could say that." I said, with a low chuckle. Casita began to get more and more filled with guests. Dolores spent an awkward second staring at me before she excused herself. I walked around, admiring everyone enjoying themselves. Everyone talked and laughed among themselves, enjoying the moment. I got myself some food and waited for the ceremony to begin.

All lights shinned on Antonio.

Poor boy... he looked scared out of his mind...

He instantly looked more comfortable as Mirabel appeared and accompanied him as he walked to his door.
