A/N Just a drabble I wrote to play around with my new keyboard and as practice.

An elbow jabbed into Breeze's side. Breeze ignored it. It came again more forcefully.

Irritated, he opened his eyes, finally acknowledging his brother.

'What, rat?'

'Coward, how long are we gonna stay here?' Sam whined.

'Can't the rat live without following orders?' Breeze mocked. 'You don't have to stay.'

'Oh shut it, rebel. Kota told us to hang out together,' Sam quickly added on just knowing that Breeze would take advantage of his slip-up, 'and before you-'

'Wow' Breeze cut his brother off. 'I was just teasing but I guess you're still a lab-rat in mind,' Breeze snorted with a playful smirk.

Ignoring Sam's squawking of 'that doesn't mean anything!', he raised his iPod and, in clear view, turned up the volume of his music until it drowned out Sam's voice. There was no point enduring his brother's complaining when he didn't have to, although a part of him was just feeling spiteful.

The song switched and the earphones thrummed with gentle tones and Breeze bobbed his head along as his legs swayed with the beat.

"With shortness of breath

You explained the infinite

And how rare and beautiful it is to even exist"~

From upon the roof he could see the whole of the school grounds. The royal horizon appeared so far away, yet also the closest it could possibly come. Something in his chest felt light and content and Breeze basked in the sunlight.

I could get used to this, he mused strangely apprehensively. It's so different despite the parallels. Time differences would do that but then the culture and morals...

As Breeze mentally listed all the differences, and subtler similarities, between this place and his old world, he discovered that some things were universal among all humans. Like arrogance, he thought bitterly.

Breeze grunted as a sudden weight buckled his body to the left. Startled out of his thoughts, Breeze gave Sam an unimpressed stare. Sam tipped his head backwards onto Breeze's shoulder and pouted at him from where he was leaning his back on Breeze's side.

'If I'm gonna be here, I might as well get comfortable,' the younger teen grumbled unapologetically. There isn't much time until lunch ends, so there's no point leaving now, he justified himself.

Breeze sighed in resignation and righted himself, shifting them a bit into a more secure position. He paused, deliberating, before he took out his left earbud and waved it near his brother's face. Sam wordlessly accepted the olive-branch, putting the ear bud in. The music sounded slightly skewed as a result but neither complained.

"I will be there for you even if we may seek a separate light

And I don't know what I've been waiting for

It feels like I'm always losing my way

I'm doubting every step I take

I know that everything finds its place

Although I wish I knew where to

I guess I'll have to see it through"~

'Pppffft Hahahaha!! I can't believe you both fell-' a large breath, 'fell asleep on the rooftop and that Sam al-almost fell off it!! Bahahaha!'
