" You should have kept that mask on, Conrad. "
Water was streaming alongside them and during that minute of silence, Antony could have sworn he saw a smile draw itself on his opponent's face.
Conrad: You're rather discreet, it's impressive. Guess I didn't pay enough attention to the bugs around.
The superhero's face remained firm, his eyes filled with an anger that rarely lit up that amber gaze. In a way, the news suited him. Antony had never been a big fan of confessions between Tinea and this man.
Antony: I would bother asking questions...
He took a step in his direction, staring defiantly at him.
Antony: But I don't care, you've done enough and I will make you pay.
The man in front of him drew his crossbow, responding to the provocation with a visibly weary look.
Conrad: I wouldn't need you to understand anyway.
Antony did not make the suspense last, despite the disadvantage of being the first to launch the festivities, he did not have the patience to wait. His legs pushed him towards the man, yet an ounce of hesitation lit the other man's gaze. Conrad's eyes fell on the arrow loaded on the crossbow, way too real, compared to those his stolen powers offered him. He quickly dodged the superhero's attack, missing his chance to retaliate.
His teammate's voice echoed in his earpiece.
"Should I reactivate it? "It echoed with a more forceful tone.
Conrad, distracted, raised his hand to reactivate the device in his ear. Yet before any answer could be formulated, Antony landed another blow in the direction of his face, not missing his target this time.
Antony: It's just you and me, now.
His hand in front of his face, Conrad only had time to hear the sound of the device breaking. As anchored in his ear as it could have been, the force of the punch had been enough to knock it down.
Conrad: .... How unfair.
The man did not have time to analyze the state of his situation that a fist was already moving in his direction again. He stopped it with his hand and the strength of the young man forced him to step back. Blood flowing down his nose made him realize that this boy was no longer holding back his strength. Conrad was no great fighter by nature and he certainly wouldn't match his opponent's superheroic powers.
Antony: What's the deal ? Need your power-up, old man ?
Before the young man could finish his arrogant teasing, Conrad grabbed him by the throat, pinning him to the ground and taking his breath away in the unexpected move.
Conrad: Stop talking and fight ! If you want it so much...
His hand released the pressure, as if giving him a second chance, a gesture Antony was too enraged to notice anyway. Immediately back on his feet, he resumed his attacks, hitting as quickly and as hard as possible, recovering quickly when his punches didn't reach their target.
It was nothing more than an ego fight. The two simply going at each other like animals.

Zack: I need to punch something so bad.
Kvéta: We know.
The band was stuck in this shabby hotel room. Zack, still upset by his altercation with Antony and the others, seeming almost sad about their fate.
Calie was sitting on a chair, elbows on her knees, in her hand she held her necklace.
The young girl wondered why they had received these miraculous and this training, to end up being useless.
