Ryder's Point of View:

A Couple Days Later:

I sit silently in Chemistry, Harry next to me as we work on a worksheet together but we are both rather quiet. Since our fight, we both have been kind of on edge. I think we will get through it though, I just need to stop being so hard headed and he needs to stop being jealous all of the time.

The teacher is talking in the front of the class but I am not too interested into what he has to say, the same goes for the many other kids in the class.

I think I have developed a case of Senioritis.

"Harry." I whisper and he turns to me slightly, assuring me that I have his attention,"I don't like this."

He breaths,"Yeah you've always hated Chemistry."

"Not that." I whisper,"I mean us fighting like this."

There is a silence,"Me too."

"Mrs. Neil." I quickly turn my attention to the stupid teacher, I always get in trouble for talking in this class, so I'm ready for him to yell at me and threaten to send me to detention for 'disrupting the peace' as he called it,"You're mother is in the office, apparently it's urgent." Harry looks at me confused and I stand up quickly,"Grab your things as well please." I do as told and quickly stand up, Harry mouthing. Call me later, and I nod and swiftly walk to the office.

Once I open the navy blue door, I spot my mother sitting in one of the plush chairs. Her eyes red and blotchy, she stands up once she sees me.

"Ryder..." Her voice cracks, and I immediately know what is happening.

"Where is she." I say, anger clear in my voice. My mother shakes her head, covering her face with her hands,"Where. Is. She."

"She's in the hospital." My mother says looking me straight in the eyes and I can see the tears she is trying to hold back. I decide that it would be best not to make a scene in the office so we quickly rush out of the school and into her car.

Once I find a parking spot, I swiftly get out of the car, running to the check in desk.

"I need to see Carter Neil." I rush out.

The women looks at me and speaks calmly and it's getting on my nerves,"I'm sorry, Ms. Neil can't have any visitors at the moment."

I slam my fists on the counter,"Let me see my fucking sister!" I yell.

"Ms. please don't use that tone with me, I'm only a nurse. If you want you can wait in the waiting room until she is permitted visitors." My mother grabs my arm and ushers me towards the waiting room before I can protest, and sits me down in one of the uncomfortable leather seats.

Minutes go by and I am comforting my mother, she is sobbing like a maniac and once again I'm the one to console her. Once again I feel like the adult figure in this relationship, but I let her cry and try to sooth her by rubbing my hand in small circular motions on her backside. I lean my head against the wall and let out a deep sigh, trying desperately hard to not think about what could be going on in that hospital room that contains my sister.

I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket, and I move my mom away from me slipping my hand into my pocket and pull out my sleek black iphone. Checking the home screen to see that I had gotten a text from Harry.

From Harry:

Hey are you alright?

I pressed the top button, not particularly motivated to speak to anyone. Not right now.
