Ryder's Point of View:

I eyed myself in the full length mirror. My hair fell in soft waves down my back and my makeup was minimul. I threw on a pair of jeans and a nice blouse, grabbing my bag and making my way downstairs. Carter was at a friend's house, my mom was at work.

I haven't seen her in a couple of days. She didn't even call me when I stayed at Harry's when the roads were closed due to the rain, I haven't seen her since. She doesn't even care so whatever.

I quickly grabbed my car keys and locked the door behind me, jumping into my jeep.

* * * * * *

I pulled up infront of Harry's house. My heart beating fast, should I do this? I question myself, no I shouldn't. I should just go home right now, I could tell them I got sick or something and apoligize that I couldn't make it.

I sat in my car, trying to think of scenarios to get out of this dinner with Harry's family, but I knew Harry would be upset with me if I didn't do this and Gemma just flew from the UK, the least I could do was show up at some stupid dinner.

I got out of the car slowly, still debating whether or not I should actually go inside and participate in this 'family' get together. Before I knew it I was standing at the front door, my arms frozen to my side. Slowly yet surely I brought my fist to the door and knocked a couple of times. I heard loud talking coming from inside and then a girl probably in her early twenties or late teens answered the door.

She had a huge smile pasted on her face.

"Hi I'm Gemma you must be Ryder."

I smiled back at her,"Yeah nice to meet you."

I stood their awkwardly as she kind of just stared at me, I think she came to the attention that she was kind of being creepy just letting me stand on her front porch so she let me inside.

"Oh come in, come in." She turned and called behind her,"Mum, Harry. Ryder's here!" I stepped into the familiar house, Anne practically skipping out of the kitchen enveloping me in a warm hug.

"Hello love, how are you doing?"

"Good thank you." I smiled,"Just come have a seat at the table, Harry should be down in a sec." I nodded and made my way towards the dining room table, Gemma following after me, and taking a seat diagonal from me.

"So you flew all the way from Cheshire?" I tried to start conversation.

Gemma smiled sweetly at me,"Yeah, I don't usually get time off with Uni and everything, and money is tight being a college student."

I laughed,"I can imagine."

"Plus I love it here, I mean Cheshire will always be my, or our home but this town is growing on me. I know Harry likes it here." She says with a smirk on her face. God, she did the same smirk that Harry does,"So, were you born here?"

I shake my head,"No I'm from New York but my mom took me and my sister to this tiny town to start new and stuff, but it's not as bad as I orginally had thought."

"Where's your dad?"

I paused for a moment,"My parents are divorced, he's somewhere else now." I stated, leaving out the whole dead in the ground thing.

She gave me a look of sympathy,"Oh I'm sorry, my parents are divorced too. When I was young though so I don't really remember."

I nervously laughed,"Enough divorce talk, it's depressing."
