Black wings

Chapter 4

Ivy chat quietly with Loki for sometime before he start to close up again. She notice that when they move toward personal topics or why he is there he dodge the question. She shrug it off. She didn't want to push him if he didn't want to tell her voluntarily. "Is there a library somewhere?" She ask instead after one question he didn't answer at all. "Yes, there actually is. Do you want to see it?" Loki offer. She smile and nod. They stand up and walk out of living room. She glance over her shoulder and chuckle to others shocked expression. "I think we caused some heart attacks to them." She chuckle. "And why you think that little fairy?" He ask. She show her tongue to him. Tip of her head barely reach his lips. Corner of his lips twitch upwards to her behavior. 

"They look quite shocked that you came with me." Ivy explain with mischievous grin. Loki roll his eyes. "It was just convenient reason to leave the room. Thor guarding me all the time is exhausting." He complain with tired sigh. She tilt her head and look at him. "So, others don't believe they can stop you if necessary?" "I am a God, of course not." He scoff. She tilt her head to other way. "Is Thor then stronger than you?" She ask curious. His shoulders stiffen. She frown confuse. "That stupid oaf is all muscles." He growl as answer. Her frown deepen. "Do you have powers?" She ask. "I can stab you if you don't shut up." He snarl and glare at her. 

Ivy raise her hands. "Okay, okay. No need to get angry at me. I am just curious." She try to calm Loki down. He scoff and speed up. She catch up him soon and walk quietly beside him. She is curious as why he is so withdrawn and cranky when asked about him and Thor. "Here is library." He grumble and open the door. She follow him inside. She gasp in shock. Room is so big and full of filled bookshelves. "This is a paradise." She whisper and rush between shelves. She hear how he walk to couches on corner. 

Ivy look around bookshelves and soon figure out how books are organized. She grab one fantasy book and walk to where Loki is. She sit down on armchair and curl in it, throwing legs over other armrest. She open the book and start to read. They read in comfortable silence for hours. She chuckle to book occasionally, it tell about fairies and she find it hilarious. "Can you be quiet!" Loki finally snap. She startle a little and turn to look at him. "Sorry, I have get used to read alone. But some of these things are just hilarious. Fairydust can make humans fly, seriously?" She chuckle. He raise his eyebrow. "Humans are hilarious creatures sometimes." She say and turn back toward her book. 

"Is fairydust real?" Loki ask after awhile. Ivy turn to look at him again. She think about her answer for a moment. "Yes, it is. But it is not some dreamy stuff. It is dangerous." She answer eventually and turn to continue reading. "Why?" He ask curious. She sigh. "I can't tell you, I'm sorry." She answer and smile sadly to him. He frown. "I just can't." She answer again and continue to read. He nod and continue to read too.

Ivy hear someone open the door. She throw the book on table and jump to her feet, ready to fight if necessary. Loki look at her with frown. "Here you are! Dinner is ready." Thor greet them and walk in view. She straighten her posture and grab the book from table. "I'm already hungry." She smile happily to Thor and walk toward door. She feel how Loki stare after her but didn't look back at him. She walk fast enough front of two asgardians that they didn't catch her before living room. She sit down on free chair next to Bucky.

"Hi Ivy." Bucky greet her politely. "Hi." She greet him and start to collect food for her plate. For her surprise, Loki sit down next to her. She give bowls and trays to him after she has taken food. Others chatter comfortably around table. She listen carefully and soon realize which role each hold. Steve is clearly team's mom, Tony is clown as well as brains, Bruce is listener and worry cat, Natasha act like mom too and maintain order, Clint and Bucky act like protectors and troublemakers, Sam is over looker, Thor is muscles and sometimes little oblivious like Loki said, Wanda is teenager like someone who everyone look after, Vision didn't really have spot in group. Ivy and Loki are outsiders, trying to fit in or at least she try. 

Ivy ate as quickly as she could. "Thanks for food. I think I will go to my room and get some rest." She say and move from table. "Good night guys." She wave her hand while others answer. She walk in lazy speed toward her room and look around. She start to hum to herself and look outside from window wall. "You forgot your book on table." She turn to look at Loki, he reach her book toward her. "Oh, thank you." She smile and take it. "It is strangely peaceful in here." She say after a moment. He turn to look at surprised. "I have lived for last couple hundreds years in somewhere pretty noisy. There is so quiet, it feel weird." She explain. "Is that so?" "My life hasn't been like flowers and sunshine at all." She admit with sad smile.

Loki stare at Ivy. "My life hasn't been too easy either." He tell her quietly. She look at him surprised. "Well, you have to play with cards you get." She answer and shrug. "Haven't you ever felt angry about it?" He ask suddenly. She tilt her head and think about it. "Once. I got consumed by anger. I fought and killed for decades. One day I realized that it didn't chance my past or the cards I got. It actually couldn't define who I could be. After that I have searched of who I want to be. I'm not sure even today." She answer and smile softly. "I hope that I find the answer someday." She tell to him. 

Loki stay in silence for rest of their walk. "Well this is my room." Ivy say and turn to look at him. "Thank you for showing me where the library is." She thank him. "You're welcome." He answer deep in thoughts. "Good night Loki." She say and open her door. "You really are interesting one Ivy." He say to her before closing his room door. She glance at closed door surprised. "I really like this one." She murmur to herself and smile before walking inside her room.

Ivy quickly showered and put on black pajama. She look at bed and scoff. She walk out to terrace and look around. There is two big trees nearby. "Perfect." She smile and walk to them. She start to grow vines around trees and make hammock to herself. She grin and examine it. She try it with her hands and flop on it. Vines easily handle her weight. She stretch and yawn. "Like I would sleep my first night in 14 years out of prison inside a building." She murmur and grow big leaf to grow over her hammock, hiding her from light and eyes. She feel warm and comfortable and curl in comfortable loosen ball. She sigh in relief and close her eyes. Soon she fall asleep.
