The Camp ground is quiet. The sicada sing their night songs. It was so different from the past few days.
Beth just looks at the sky and it's stars. She traces constellations she knows in the sky, Carl beside her.
"He loves you." He whispers. Beth turns her head toward him.
"He hasn't loved anyone since..." He breaks off and she turns her whole body toward him. Her mind races as she thinks of what could follow.
'His girlfriend died in a car accident.'
'She was killed in a gun fight.'
'She was mauled by a bear or a lion, or a whale.' she didnt are how crazy those sounded. She needed to know.
"Since what?" she asks encouraging him. He closes his eyes and breaths out.
"Not what, who." He says looking at her at now.
"Okay what was her name?" Beth says trying to understand why it was taboo and why Carl was dancing around the point.
"His." Carl says making Beth sit up.
"His?" she echos, and he sits up.
"His. As in a guy. And that guy was my dad." Carl says lowly. How could he be so calm about this? Beth's head was a war ground trying to understand.
"Your dad and Daryl? like were a couple?" Beth asks again trying to understand.
"No. Daryl is the kind of guy that loves whole heartily, he did everything for my dad after my mom passed." he says with a tight voice. Beth's eyes searched his as he stops to take a breath. She knew how that felt.
"He genuinely loved my dad and Judith and I. He made sure we ate when dad was low on money he bought us clothes when he noticed I was growning out of mine." he continues but Beth got the picture. She didn't stop him, she wants to learn more.
"One day, I was suppose to be at school, I ditched and walked into town to the garage, and I saw my dad and Daryl in the back office. My dad was crying. Daryl was crouched in front of him. Holding his hands and rubbing his legs while my dad cried. Daryl wiped my dad's tears and just grabbed his face and said something to him and kissed him." Carl finishes, Beth wide eyed says nothing.
"I didn't know how to react at that moment. I stopped watching after a few seconds. It just kinda felt real, ya know. Daryl did and does love my dad. Now it's more of Family love."
Carl says patting a hand on Beth's knee. It was anything more than support.
"But I see the same love he had for my dad, that day in the garage as he does now for you." Carl concludes.
"So that's why your dad told me to be careful. And probably why my sister was weary of the idea of me and him." Beth says bring her knees up to her chest and cradling them.
"This doesn't change anything between us, if that's what everyone's worried about." Beth says, she didn't mean for it to sound cocky or snobby. She is ready to love him.
"Well alright." Carl says clapping his hand on her shoulder. She smiles and rolls her eyes.
"You sound just like your father." Beth gives a small laugh. He smiles and stands.
"Thanks." he says before walking off toward the fire by the tents.

Beth knew two things for certain:
1. She loved him more now.
2. At first she didnt care for his past but now she's thankful because his past is part of the man he is today.

She sits still as she feels the breeze pass on by. The warmth it brings and the peaceful sound it makes through the trees and reeds of wheat in the fields.
"Hey Beth." a familiar husky voice says snd she smiles.
"Hey Daryl." Beth returns. He sits next to her and wraps an arm around her, pulling her into his side.

"Well alright." She says and laughs to herself.
"What?" Daryl asks smiling.
"Nothing." Beth says kissing his hand that's intertwined with hers.

hey guys sorry this is so short and so late. I just need motivation and alot of patience to actually write.
I'm the worse writer in the world. I know.

also I really hope you guys understand this part. it was important to me to write because alot of people don't understand the depth and levels of love. and I hope this kinda explains my view on Daryl Dixon as a person. because he is so full of love he just can't express himself.
