"It's been 2 years since you experienced it. How are you holding up?" my dad asked me while resting after a very long ride.
"It's never been so easy, Dad. Forgetting him was very hard for me and trusting people again is more difficult." I said looking at the view.
"You will get through it. Your small moves are a big step for your future." My dad reached for my hand to hold it. "That is why we bring you here because your mom and I know you love views like this."
City view and city lights is always been my rest, my happy pill, and my escape from my sadness. I am so lucky that I have parents like my mom and dad. How I also wished my brother is with us also, but I know his career in Korea is better than here.
[Hi, Rain.] my brother said when my mom showed her phone to me.
"Hi, how are you?"
[I'm good. Still busy because I have a lot of work to do.] we both smiled and hung up the call after an hour because he needs to go.
It's time for dinner and we go out for dinner. It was near our hotel so it was not a long drive. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, the manager of the restaurant assist us to our seats.
"I would love to order... pasta, for the drink just water," I said to the waitress.
"Is that all you want?" my mom asked.
"Yes." I shortly answered and smiled at her. After a few minutes, our food already arrived and we just ate and talked about our life. "I heard there was a rooftop here that you can chill and have a drink."
"You want to go?" my dad asked me. I just nodded and he gave me the permission I want. "You will drink alone, call us when you want to go home, we can't accompany you."
We stood up and went in a different direction. I went to the rooftop and my parents go home. It was a chill bar above the restaurant. It has chill vibes and it's good. I just ordered a glass of champagne and drink it at the bar top.
"Sir, one whiskey, on the rocks please." I looked at the man who just ordered an on-the rocks whiskey. He looks like he's a model. "Is there something wrong, or do I have dirt on my face?"
"U-uh, nothing. Don't mind me, I just zoned out." I didn't know that I am staring at him for that long.
"Timothy. Tim" he said and offered his hand to do a handshake.
"Lorraine. LA" I said and shake his hand.
"So, LA. Where are your friends?" I faced him to talk to him properly. I am used to talking to people in a bar.
"I'm alone," I answered and sipped on my champagne while looking at him.
