i was turning 15 this year. my dad still living with us, im completely over it by now.

Tommorrow was toñitos gift ceremony, even i was worried about tonight, i knew how Mirabel felt and the inter family felt.

it was nerve-wracking. what if the miracle just stopped? would we never have anther generation of gifts?

"Y/n! are you up yet?? its already noon!" camilo called

"Noon..? Noon!?!" i screamed getting up, i had a bad sleep schedule but i would wake up earlier! i quickly got dressed

i ran outside of my room
"bye mom bye dad!" i called out opening the door, i didnt have much time to get ready so i slipped out the door as soon as i could

i put a hand over my mouth to check my breath
"Blegh"

"morning breath?" camilo joked
"obviously" i rolled my eyes

by now.. i was,.. definitely feeling something for him, i just. didnt know what

camilo took a deep breath
"worried about Toñitos ceremony tomorrow?" i asked, tilting my head

"Huh-? oh yeah" it looked like he lied, but it was whatever

"im sure hes gonna get a beautiful gift just like everyone else camilo." i reassured him.

"but Mirabel didnt get one, and what if, were loosing our encanto? this whole town was built from our encanto." camilo started to actually worry.
"im sure she didnt get a gift for a reason, shes just as special as anyone else in your family."

"now what kind of gift did you get him?" i asked
"well, everyone knows hes and animal guy so i wanted to go shopping with you today" camilo said

"So, you knew i havent gotten one yet?" i asked, kind of surprised
he grinned

"ofcourse i knew, im your bestfriend, plus. dolores told me" he wispered
i smiled

"so, what your saying is you get all your info on me from dolores?" i teased
"now that just sounds creepy!" he replied

it made me smile
"alright lets go" i said walking off
he mumbled somthing and then caught up to me within seconds

my birthday was a week after Antonios, so it was pretty soon, i was actually kind of excited for this one, its been a little less than 5 years since i came. i was really happy about it

once we got to the shop we started browsing
"so.. Toñito likes, animals" i said glancing around.

i saw a belt with a tiger on it, it was a orangey yellow belt with a orange cheetah pattern on it

didnt really make sense bur it caught my eye
"oh theres somthing good!" i quickly walked over to it and picked it up, it was pretty cheap
"are you going to get anything or is this going to be from us camilo?" i asked

he looked at me
"uh, ill browse for a few more minutes" he said

"okay, ill be waiting outside" i said walking off to the cashier
