Translation:

For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.

O Pārtha, how can a person who knows that the soul is indestructible, eternal, unborn and immutable kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?

As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind

The devils in the dress of kings overburdened the Earth. Then, Bhumi Devi, or Mother Earth personified, assumed the form of a cow and took Lord Brahma's shelter. Mother Earth, who was weeping and crying, explained Lord Brahma the problems she was facing, due to the evil kings ruling over earth. Lord Brahma first approached the king of Heaven, Indra and Lord Shiva. Along with them (Mother Earth and demigods including Lord Shiva), Lord Brahma went to the shore of Ocean Of Milk, where Lord Vishnu lies on a white island, Shvetadvipa.

The demigods, headed by Lord Brahma started praying to the four-armed Narayana, the diminisher of all vices, who is cause of all causes. Lord Vishnu, satisfied with the prayers, spoke the following:
" O Brahma, this time only Supreme Godhead, Lord Krishna can help you. He is the lord of everyone, He is god of all demigods. All of you must take his shelter for He is the supreme God."

Lord Brahma asked:

" Is there any truth greater than you? I never knew this. If this is so, please show us the place where He resides."

Lord Vishnu is a plenary expansion of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is the source of everything.

Lord Vishnu, answered the prayers of Lord Brahma. He showed Lord Brahma and other demigods a path which was at the top of the universe.
