Wind howled making the trees sway and paint the pale blue horizon.
Taehyung still clutched the golden bars of the portcullis, he eyed the giant black wolf looking towards him his eyes shined read with a glimpse of burgundy, almost 7 feet tall and much broader than when taehyung last saw him like this. The wolf looked at the omega his eyes hooded as he stood a feet or two away from the gate and slowly picked his paws up and walked towards taehyung. Taehyung didn't dare to move or tell the wolf to go away. When the Alpha was closed enough, the omega reached his hand from the bars for him as the wolf came closer and taehyung slowly booped his nose with his index then gently ruffled the fur on his face, his palm too small to hold the Alpha
The wolf pressed in taehyung's palm as it closed his eyes. Taehyung whimpered and then sobbed making the wolf flick his eyes open and come forward. Taehyung removed his hand from him and kept it on his mouth, his tears making their way down his face. The omega slided against the portcullis and cried his eyes out the wolf slowly pushed his face between the bars sniffing and licking taehyung's nape but soon that feeling was gone
"..A-alpha?" He turned around to see if he wasn't really dreaming...the wolf wasn't there...but a certain male he called his significant other was
"Yes Taehyung" Jeongguk's voice was lower that he thought it will be, taehyung again sobbed in the roundness of his hand in just one glance he took in every detail of Jeongguk
He had gotten weak
His eyes had dark circles
His skin was paler than it used to be

"So you found him" the moon goddess stood before Jeongguk as Zohan stood next to her, Zohan was never a greedy man, never were his feelings attached nor was he going to capture taehyung and not let him see his Alpha he was just harsh with his words
"Yes moon goddess"
"Do you want to take back?"
A yes again
"I have a final test for you dear"
Jeongguk's shoulders stiffened, goosebumps on his body as he shivered from a sudden strike of coldness
"Y-yes"
"It's a riddle, you solve it, you take him along with your children you don't, you only take your omega with you"
Children...he didn't like them right? What is he going to do with those weaklings non of them can be the heir to this kingdom
"If you don't want to solve it, you don't need to, you can take taehyung he's standing behind the veil over there" the moongoddess jerked her chin to the curtain on their left, the person behind it visibly flinched
He just takes taehyung back to his kingdom just like that, his luna will be back everything will go back to normal but...he was reminded of the little girl who smiles often with her bunny teeth, his little boy who stays quiet most of the time and stares with his dark gleaming eyes
"I-i will solve it" the goddess smiled and nodded to her where a paper was kept frontside down on a table
"Pick it up" his legs almost betrayed him once the moon goddess said that to him he slowly crept his way towards it and his hands trembled to pick it up, once he did he will have no other choice but to solve it, still he picked it up and turned it over.
The words were a chaos of blur and seemed as if they were unreadable
Get a hold on yourself
He read the first stanza
'By large, my ministries are keen and sweet,
But scored, I become a difficult beast to defeat'
'For though each of my strikes land a powerful blow,
But when I kill, I do it painfully slow'
These were the only words written in a stylish font on an old brown paper Jeongguk turned the paper but saw nothing just this?
He looked towards the moon goddess then Zoha and then towards the small figure trembling behind the veil. He could just take taehyung away...
"Jeongguk come on please don't leave your children there" wait a minute- where did that come from?
"It's me...namjoon." Oh..
"You don't have much time by the way, a few minutes."
"I need- help namjoon"
"In wha-" before namjoon could complete the link was completely cut off
Where Jeongguk couldn't imagine his life without his children, the moon goddess noticed the unease and hesitant in Jeongguk's eye, she looked down to her palm, the necklace which taehyung once wore was in her hands the stone twinkling time to time, she smiled and looked up
"Go Jeongguk...you, your mate and children are free" Jeongguk didn't believe what the moon goddess said but when a door opened from no where in a wall which seemed impossible to even break through
"Taehyung" the moon goddess called out, taehyung stopped trembling and Jeongguk could see him move behind the veil
"Go get your children, you don't have much time before the door closes forever" Jeongguk saw taehyung making a run for it and after a minute of two returning with seolhyun in his arms and yeonmi's hand was wrapped around taehyung's index
"Go"
"Th-thankyou.. Thank you so much" Jeongguk almost chocked out then ran towards taehyung as he moved forward closing the distance between him and his mate, before taehyung could feel nervous and tense due to being close to his Alpha, he was engulfed in a tight hug as the Alpha snuggled him and held him so tight he almost felt that he'd run out of breathe before Jeongguk let him go and bent down at yeonmi's level, picking her up and brought her close to his chest
"Dada" the little girl giggled as Jeongguk's eyes glistened, he kissed her nose then looked towards seolhyun, his little boy looking at him with those same black eyes which had a flicker of gold once they met Jeongguk's. The true blood kissed his forehead and then for the last time checking taehyung from head to toe, he turned back and the only thing he saw was a door and a voice erupting his ears
'fast'
He held taehyung's shoulder and along with him he moved forward
"Quick" He whispered before gently rushing taehyung and his children towards the door but before he could step in, he stopped and for the very last time, he looked back. His eyes didn't hold the same fear and hesitancy but a little hope...something had just clicked
"Love" He said with his shaky voice, the moon goddess for once looked at him then looked down to her palm again and smiled wider as Zohan knotted his eyebrows together
"The answer to the riddle, love"
Then Jeongguk stepped in and with a bang the door closed, disappearing in the wall as if it never existed.
