I sit with old man Joseph as he cradles a baby in his arms in the park.

I ask curiously "How did you get that kid?" Joseph replies happily "She was just left alone, no one claimed that she was their daughter so I adopted her".

I reply "Aw that's sweet, it's nice to see the little one has a guardian".

Joseph gently pulls the blanket over the baby more to keep her warm and we sit in silence for a while.

I put my hand into the bird seed bag and feed the birds on the path.

Joseph is a friend of mine, we originally met through Jotaro and we hang out often.

I like Jotaro, more than a friend obviously, I was at his wedding with his previous wife, which I presume he is still with now.

You could probably imagine how awkward I felt watching him get married to another girl, but even so, at least they are happy.

Joseph turns to me and asks "Do you still like Jotaro?" He grins mischievously.

I stop my hand before throwing more bird seed and ask suprised "How did you know that?"

He says knowingly "I've known for a long time, why didn't you tell him?"

I reply while dropping the seeds on the ground and watching the pigeons flock, "I was going to, but it was too late. He already found a girl and got married".

Joseph exhales and says "Well today might be your lucky day Y/n, I got a letter saying Jotaro got divorced".

I say softly "It's sweet of you to tell me this, but it's none of my buisness what he does with his wife".

I stand up and thank him for letting me join him this evening and walk off.

I walk pass the docks and see a familiar man walk towards my direction wearing all white.

I decide to ignore the color of white in the corner of my eye and continue to my destination home.

The next day, I go out to buy a few things I've run out of at home.

I pass a male wearing a white cloak, my breath hitches and I stop in my tracks.

I turn around curiously to see the man has stopped and staring at me as well.

I ask "Jotaro?" I walk up to him and look at his eyes under his hat.

He says "Oh it's you...", I put on a smile and ask "How are you going?"

He replies bluntly "Tired, I've come to see the old man and another family member".

I feel crap knowing he wasn't here to see me, but I can understand family is important.

He asks "What are you doing here? You live here?"

I nod and say "I moved to this town after you got married, sorry I haven't seen you in a while".

He smiles softly and says "You don't have to apologise, I know why you moved".

I panic and ask "You do?" Jotaro slides his hands in his pockets and says "The old man told me you couldn't stand watching me marry another woman".

I blurt "I didn't mind- As long as you were happy I guess, anyways that was years ago".

Jotaro says right after, "I will take you to dinner".

I point to the direction I was going and say "No that's okay, I was just going to get my groceries".

He pulls me against his side and says "I insist" getting to me walk with him.

I sit across Jotaro as the sun is going down inside a basic restaurant.

It's good because something simple as this makes me more relaxed, nothing too seriously fancy.

Jotaro eats silently in front of me, I quietly drink my favorite drink and put my glass down.

It's odd because my last physical contact with him was me telling him I hope he is happy before I left.

Sure saying that might seem nice in some people's opinion but in mine it must've been a bit rude for it to be the last words.

He says "I am not married anymore, you can stop worrying why I took you on a date".

I smile awkwardly and say "It's alright... Thank you".

I've never wanted to punch myself so hard for how nervous I sounded.

He starts chuckling to himself, now I just feel worse, he bursts into laughter and says "This is so fucking terrible!"

I laugh nervously and say "Yeah I agree, I'm sorry".

He orders wine and says "Good grief, let's just forget about it".

He pours me a glass and hands it to me, I take it and ask feeling kind of sad "As in... Forget about the date?"

He nods and downs his glass, I watch as the alcohol slides down into his mouth in seconds as if watching him lose the memory of this situation here and now.

I look into my glass feeling uneasy and put it down, I say "Jotaro".

He replies in question "Hmm?"

I play with my glass and say "So you know I like you, I really do, but uh.. I wanted to say I like you more than a friend".

Jotaro replies "I know".

I ask "You want to forget this despite how awkward today is?"

He smirks and asks "Do you know what wine does to people Y/n?"

I look at the red substance in my cup and nod, he says "I am not good at talking, it's not that I want to forget, I just want to show you how I feel".

My face burns, he pushes my glass back towards me and says "Now that you know why I ordered wine, if you still feel the same or whatever.. Drink".

I bring the glass carefully towards my lips and drink the rich liquid.

I wake up in my bed and feel exhausted, I turn onto my back and sit up, covering my body in sheets.

Jotaro enters the room fully dressed and says "I got you a glass of water, I need to go out and see the old man".

I nod and take the cold glass and down it feeling the desired liquid freeze my body making me satisfied.

Jotaro takes my cheek and kisses my forehead, he says "I will be back dear".
