As I walked up the front steps of midtown high, I admired the the party; colourful balloons smothering the floor, shiny banners plastered across the walls, music pumping loudly. I caught my own reflection in the doors, actually feeling really confident in this dress and with my hair done up.

This really wasn't my scene but when I saw Mj and Ned I smiled widely and ran in.
"Wow. You look amazing y/n." Mj smiled.
"So do you!" I gestured to her floral dress, seemingly uncharacteristic for her.
We just talked for half an hour, not really being party people, but it was still fun. Mj and Ned were really cool people. But deep down I knew it wasn't right. Because he wasn't here.
I'd had a crush on Peter Parker since the first day we met. At first it was his appearance; the brown wavy locks, the chocolate orbs, his adorable smile, and well...the muscles. But then as I got to know him, and his personality was even better; incredibly sweet, super smart, witty and so kind.
Deep down, in the last few weeks I had hoped he would ask me to be his date to homecoming but, I guess I was just kidding myself.
"Um, is peter coming?" I asked Ned.
"Yeah he should be- oh! there he is!"
At those words, I turned my head slowly and immediately locked eyes with him. I sucked in a breathe at how great he looked; ruffled waves untamed, black suit hugging his figure. And those eyes, those gorgeous eyes kept there gaze on mine. Unable to help giggle a little as he looked flushed, he took this as a cue to slowly walk over.
"Y/n, you look beautiful."
"Thanks Pete." I blushed.
"N-no I mean you look absolutely gorgeous." He looked me up and down, stunned.
"Again, thank you." I giggled. "You look great too, very handsome."
"T-thank you."
"Man, get a room." Mj scoffed jokingly.
"Shut up." I laughed, peter laughing with me.
"I don't know about a room but, can I ask you to dance?" Peter grinned.
"Of course."
He put his hand out and I took it with a smile. Pulling me into the middle of the room, I realised that there were very few people dancing. It was actually nice, almost like it was just the two of us.
(thought this would be the song they dance to, you can imagine anything you want!)
I gently placed my arms around his broad shoulders and his hand swivelled around my hips. We began to sway in rhythm, mirroring how we were both thinking the same thing right now...each other.
"I need to ask you something but I don't want to make you feel bad." I spoke shyly, worried that if I spoke I would hurt his feelings.
"Go ahead, it's alright." He smiled comfortingly.
"Was there a reason you didn't ask me to be your date?"
He halted his movement slightly, sucking in a breath.
"Um yeah, there is. B-but I don't know whether I'm ready to tell you." He bit his lip and looked down.
"Oh. Okay. It's not something bad is it? I didn't do anything did I? Because if I did then I didn't mean-" my anxiety took over but luckily he interrupted before I went on and on.
"Y/n relax, it's nothing bad." He chuckled. "You know what, I am going to say. This is the perfect time." He gulped slightly.
"Okay, whenever you're ready."
"We've been best friends for 3 years now and Ive always felt like I could be honest with you about everything in my life. I mean, when you found out about me being Spiderman I wasn't worried because I trust you with my life. But something I've never been able to tell you is how much I love you."
"What do you mean? You tell me you love me all the time!" I smiled with a frown.
"No I mean, how much I love love you." He inhaled a sharp breathe.
"Wait you mean...like a crush?" My eyes widened.
"Look, I don't expect you to feel the same. But y/n, you're the most incredible, beautiful, kind-hearted, hilarious and downright adorable person I've ever met. I just couldn't help but fall in love with you." He spoke from his heart, but his face dropped as he scanned my face.
My eyes remained widened but not because i was scared, I just couldn't believe it. I've had a crush on him for so long and never thought he would ever reciprocate. But now that it's actually happening, I just can't believe it.
"Pete, I love you too." I grinned, tears prickling my eyes.
"W-what?" His head shot up.
"God I cant believe you actually like me back. I've had a crush on you for so long." I chuckled.
"WHa- no way."
"Yes silly." I giggled.
"Well, can I ask you to be my girlfriend then?" He bit his lip with a smile.
"Oh my gosh yes!" I squealed, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Can I ask you one my thing?" He whispered into my ear as I showed no sign of letting go.
"Yeah?"
"Can I kiss you?"
I pulled away and looked into his beautiful brown eyes with a smile as wide as the Cheshire Cat's.
"Of course."
He pulled me closer and brushed the hair from my face before lightly placing his hand on my cheek.
"You're so beautiful." He smiled softly, blushing slightly.
"And you're so handsome." I giggled.
With that, he leant in and attached his soft lips to mine. It started with a peck before it turned intimate, as if we were spilling our feeling through the work of our lips. It was like a spell had been cast on us with the way we refused to let go of each other; his hands roaming my body and mine running through his soft curls. It grew passionate, letting each other know we had been waiting so long for this moment. Not being able to breathe anymore, we reluctantly let go, foreheads still connected.
